The "miracle on Markam"

We were 9-5 that year

Our dipshit fanbase thinks this is a thing, and none of them remember the dropped interception in 1988 that if caught, would have had us playing for the national championship in 1988

But 9-5 is "a miracle" ...

Not a fair playing field.

I'd love to see how DVH would do with unlimited scholarships.

Corbin doesn't have unlimited scholarships.

Is it really only 3, the way I read it, seems like they can circumvent everything and its basically unlimited.

Absurd this is still a thing given how dominant they have been year after year after both in recruiting and on the field.

Ok I'll rephrase to *essentially unlimited scholarships.

Can you clarify the actual rules? I've never seen them anywhere.

It's just a black hole which makes me think he does whatever he pleases recruiting while the rest of us struggle to get guys on campus.

The correct answer right here.

If DVH can grasp this we'll have another shot at a Natty. I've heard Dave say repeatedly well we hit the ball hard or we hit it right to them.

Too many ducks left on the pond for years.

Oh well after all, we're Arkansas.

Yes

I literally turned down all-day-sex for that, to instead watch that game

then that fricking interception was my reward

We had a receiver playing QB that looked like shite all game. Ball at the 20 yard line with 34 seconds left against a Nick Saban defense.

(7 min mark):

LINK

That was a fricking miracle. You can poo poo going 9-3 and winning the west but it was one of the best regular seasons we've had since joining the sec.

Nothing memorable a bout that game, got destroyed by Georgia when Bama should have been instead. Then lost to a mediocre Minnesota team.

If a season involving an unranked team is considered one of the best since joining the SEC then hog fans need a lot therapy.

IDK what he has.. But if he has more than any other SEC team, why is this allowed?

My man, congrats on gaming the system... the system needs to change for parity/fairness sake.

The SEC as a whole should stop this period!

Meh. I feel more like the concerns I had all year came to fruition rather than my heart being ripped out. Disappointed? Sure.

Do we as a fanbase propagate our OCD natty anxiety onto our players who might not even remember the foul ball?

We very much do this. We are hungry for a title in the big 3 sports and the hog athletes feel that pressure.

I agree with the others in this thread that Corbin is better. I'm not dissing DVH. We are lucky to have him and I am very content with him. He isn't the best though.

I'm no expert, but my understanding is that Vanderbilt, through the "Opportunity Vanderbilt" fund provides additional aid based on need. This is available to all students in order to help defray Vanderbilt's high cost of attendance.

I believe the rules previously required that this be counted against athletic aid; however, that has since changed to where it can be stacked together. This is in addition to state funded programs, such as lottery scholarships, which have always been allowed to be stacked with athletic scholarship money.

Arkansas has plenty of options at its disposal as well.
