Takes away depth, but from what I've seen, its not a big loss to this line.

Yeah it's not like this line could be any worse.

The line is actually better than last year. It could get worse, but not because of comparison.

What are you basing that on?

Depth at this point...If Jones could somehow get cleared then we take another step

It really sucks that Gatlin got hurt because he was a 2nd string guy and that is depth/lost competition.

We need both right now, but since he was not a starter it is not devastating because you do not rotate O linemen like you do D linemen.

Now if the starter gets hurt. We are is big trouble.

That depth is mostly freshmen. We lost three starters and just lost a possible starter for the season. You haven't even seen the line play, to assume that it will be better is silly.

Even with the loss of the 3 players, the coaches seem to be pretty optimistic about this line and how it is not as terrible as it may seem. I havent looked into how day 2 went, but it seems like culture has changed and there may be some positivity that there was not.

Gatlin was at least a redshirt freshman that played a little. Will miss him for the depth and he certainly could have gotten some valuable experience against the non-conf teams to get ready for next year.

De'Jon Harris intercepted Hicks today and Jalen Catalon had a "pick six" off of John Stephen Jones. Also liked this note:

quote:

Arkansas has a punter in Sam Loy. Loy was booming punts during Monday's practice. Those punts were being fielded by Deon Stewart, TQ Jackson and Treylon Burks.

Any news how Burks looks as far as receiver depth chart is concerned?

Apparently Morris is trying to light a fire under O'Grady again

We have a standard. CJ has to decide to this is what he wants to do. Not with first team we will see how he responds.

Greg Brooks and Treylon Burks both made outstanding plays today, Burks with a one-handed catch that Morris says he's not sure he's ever seen before.

Craziness how he is letting his talent go to waste. That lack of work ethic will bounce him out of NFL opportunity real fast if he gets a shot.
