Hagan Smith hit the first batter he faced and then gave up a walk.

I felt like that first guy may have had it coming considering they basically smacked us with balls or had em streaming by our faces all night. at least that was how i talked myself down during the game.

I’m rewatching the game-

I rewatched it yesterday because I left the room when we were in the field. Yep, I wimped out.

I monitored this thread to see when we were at bat and watched that. I get too invested.

This man is a master of singles. And singles score RBIs, please keep Thompson and his HR or K mentality away from him.

pitching and hitting are coming around, so I'm not going to keep bitching.

Any reason why all game 1s aren't on Friday? Really blows playing game 1 Saturday early. Guess its better being on the road but makes it tough to watch with Saturday chores.

Combo of TV revenue and the fact that only one side of the bracket can play per day in Omaha.

Obviously we need a super duper regional and only the final 2 go to Omaha

Fun stat for Super Regional:

We won 7-3 to advance. UNC won 7-3 to advance. Teams have met once in their history in 1989 CWS. Hogs won 7-3.

Okay, that is a wonderfully weird stat I have to say.

Who do y’all think we will announce for our rotation? Who do you go to in Games 2 and 3? McEntire??

Leave game 3 as TBA?

2 has to be a toss up between Smith and Mac. Hard to say. I'd guess Mac if we lose and Smith if we win game 1 but who knows after last weekend.

Wiggins as backup for game 3 and committee after that with whatever arms are left.

I think I’d rather see Morris start again before Wiggins at this point honestly. But guess it depends how much we use him in the prior games.

Agree for sure. I trust the coaches though, its kind of a crap shoot with this bunch anyway.

Same.

I think you roll with Noland, McEntire, and then a bullpen approach for game 3 if needed, the ‘who’ of which would depend entirely on who pitches Saturday and Sunday.

I think you ideally have Tygart closing game 1 and Hagen closing game 2 unless he’s needed for middle relief in a pinch.

Wiggins has to be an ‘as needed’ guy right now. For whatever reason teams have been barreling up his fastball and he hasn’t been mixing in offspeed well.

I’d love for Wiggins to have a redemption moment in the Supers like Hagen had against OSU.
