Yeah you’re right in 1965 every hog fan was thinking that undefeated season in football last year was nice but damn I wish I could trade it for a basketball final 4

Most people in 1965 are dead or lost their memory, but hey 1994 was cool.

You’re the one who made the statement “Arkansas is a basketball school always has been.” I said that’s wrong you said nah. Idk dude make up your mind. Also it’s obvious based on other people in this thread responding to you and the response of the fan base every year during football season which sport has more passionate followers. When basketball was in the doldrums of the heath, pelphry, Anderson era, people were upset, agitated, etc. but you didn’t see this level of vitriol. But we’ve already established you’re simply being obtuse.

Arkansas is in fact a basketball school. And has been for a very, very long time. And no 2 people on a message board doesn't mean a damn thing.

Yeah and you ona message board doesn’t mean anything either
but sure Jan we’re a basketball school always

You're right, opinions are opinions. Social media isn't real life.

I was ticked. Why did I ever believe we had a chance is what I think I told myself leaving. Then I hurt myself again by believing we could give LSU a game and drove down there... Same result

Me too, I had really convinced myself that was the year but no, same Petrino blown out and uncompetitive against the top teams. Met some awesome girls at a bachelorette party from Iceland after the game so it was okay. Csb

Continuing from your '65 point, in '78 the basketball team had been to a final four. So was Eddie Sutton all the buzz? No. Lou Holtz, coming off a 10-1 season was. "Lou Holtz for President" was a thing.
In 2008, the basketball team was terrible. Did a group of fans on a private board foia the coach's phone records and pour through pages and pages to find dirt? No, they went after the football coach who's hubris blew a shot at a great season.
What built the basketball program? The success of the football program. Is that true for a basketball school like UK? No. Some opinions are more informed and well reasoned than others. That's another reason "taking over a bad situation" is no excuse for last Saturday.

Privately he was telling people we don’t have the roster this year.

It will take money to get us out of this hole
You can't throw good money after bad and expect better results. The BOT is the one constant in all of this. Until there is change we will stay trash.
Half of them still support HY which tells you they are clueless.

I’ll get scoffed at on here but hear me out: Gruden would’ve been a good hire on paper. Splash hire that would’ve got the fanbase excited, would’ve been a national story, and he could probably manage NIL situations given his experience in the NFL.
I’m not saying he would’ve been interested (I think he would have) or that he would’ve been successful, but from a PR and NIL fundraising standpoint I think it would’ve been a great hire to get us out of the hole and back to ground zero.

At this point we go i formation. If they dont push the defensive line back at least 1 yard we line them up and run them over with golf carts

Gruden would be awesome.
Arkansas needs to make these types of hires.
Ryan Silverfield looks and acts like an accountant.

Agree.
Lots of people say “Arkansas can’t afford to gamble on hires” but I don’t think we can afford not to.
An average Joe coach isn’t going to get it done here. We have to catch lightning in a bottle like we did with Petrino. Coach Prime comes to mind, even though I have outspokenly been against him in particular as im not a fan of his coaching philosophy. But he put Colorado back on the map even though they likely won’t sustain it.
That type of hire is what we will need.
