We were in most games we played last year, and we could move the ball. Go watch how KJ looked in his start last year compared to how he looks now.
We spent way more on NIL than Utah and we looked incompetent, because we are incompetent.
Someone is going to have to pony up some serious cash to buy him out or we are screwed for another couple years. I guess we have some cheesy catch phrases though. All in.

They spent more money but the return got the same scraps from P4/G5/FCS teams.
It's not the coaching.
It's not the talent.
It's a decaying reputation of a once solid program that is looked at by recruits from high school and the portal as Vandy but without the academics.
It's a place where bad players end a career while getting paid more.

quote:Yes it is. The offense was good when Briles and Petrino were coaching it. The defense was good when Odom was coaching it.

We get talent. We don't coach it.

It is the worst situation in the SEC, if I were a coach I'd rather go to Vandy or Kentucky or State than Arkansas.

Only because of Yurachek.
Much better coaches wanted the job, coaches who would actually created buzz and excitement day one of the hire for the fanbase.
Coaches who would actually improve the record from Sam/Petrino's 2-10 0-8 sec this year.
Instead Yurachek hired Silverfield and we can only hope for 2 wins this season.

Petrino had the gift. He could take average teams and make them function.
Look what he did when he had above average talent, we were close to the top.
What we are seeing now is NEVER going to work. We don't do anything well.

JCP started it with the worst hiring in history of maybe all of football with Morris, that is where the program entered a point of no return from the depths of hell for many cycles to come. Yurachek has continued the run although Pittman wasn't necessarily an awful hire just should have been let go before last year. I'm not sure if it's true other coaches wanted the job or not, most just use Arkansas as leverage for a raise/extension or better deal without us actually being a serious contender.
Very similar to basketball when we hired Stan Heath because he was black and started a string of god awful hires.

You did see where Utah said they knew every play if we were running vs passing right?
And then Silverado addressing it saying they caught that on film against UNA….

She was just a puppet of the BoT at that time. They signed off on the hire.
A product of firing both the Coach and AD.
Just as shitty of a hire as Chad Silverfield

She was still the "leader" of the coaching search, but it doesn't really matter who they still hired Chad Morris and the program was never going to recover for several cycles after that. Hell even at the time some said Arkansas may never recover from the damage caused by that hire like it was a modern self imposed death penalty and it almost seems like that. Maybe in another decade.

Still should have hired Mike Gundy.

And RS took the stance that it's a "win now" season. No rebuild.

It will take money to get us out of this hole.
Need a big D swinging AD hire that can pry money from peoples hands.
Somebody that can sell donating 135 mil in year one to fire the current staff, hire a top notch new one, with 50 mil allotted for roster construction.

And no idea where the $ will come from. Donor fatigue I think has set in and I don't blame them one bit. Regular fans aren't giving, especially in this state of the economy.

quote:this is such a bullshite take. You think we were any worse from a perception standpoint than Mississippi state after they fired Zach arnett? Who they fired after 1 fricking year mind you because they just made a decision we don’t want to suck anymore and went out and got Jeff lebby. You think we have a worse perception in coaching circles than Kentucky? A school that will always always put basketball first? You think we were in a worse position than last Oklahoma state last year? Who has way less money and had an even worse season than we did? These are rhetorical in case you don’t know, the answer to both is frick no! Of course Ryan fricking silverfield was not the only swinging dick in America who would take the job. Maybe James Franklin or Matt Campbell wouldn’t, maybe golesh and sumrall wouldn’t, but there were more capable hires out there who would’ve taken the job.
