LINK
so, got me to thinking (Yeah, I know) How many of us give to the Nil and how many of us would be willing to do so and direct it towards FB?
Our Nil is doing great in Basketball and Baseball, but not football from what I am hearing. And although it is institutionally based... Folks can direct where it goes, right?

Our boosters are people who've earned a shite load of money in their life time so they tend to be very cautious on where they invest it.
A couple of million in basketball and baseball gives huge results. A couple of million in football is pocket change and guarantees not that much.
We have to live with the... ahem... burden, that our donors would rather donate a few million to a new bike trail, school program, or what have you than risk it on our football team.

If we had the right coach at the helm we would get big time financial support for football. Rich people don’t get rich by making bad investments though. They see Pittman as a losing play.

How did name, image, likeness morph into I should donate money to teenage football players?

Hmm, I can spend my excess money on my family OR it can go into the g-string of a girl at Bottoms Up?
That's a tough one, Rev. Gonna have to think it through.

I think you mean the Waltons who make the Tysons and Hunts look poor.
It is really expensive spending millions upon millions of dollars in all these sports.
The Tysons and Hunts aren't mega wealthy compared to many families. So if they are cautious on what they spend. I don't blame them when it comes to football who just keeps being a loser.

Literally just had a thought yesterday why Justin Moore isn't doing something like this.

It should have been dealt with years ago but the NCAA got greedy and now it is leading to the destruction of college sports.
Why I like college better than the pros is the players were really amateurs and treated as such.
Now they want to get paid but treated as professionals. They got what they wished for and don't whine when you get treated as an adult.

Wanted the players to be paid outright by the university, while giving everyone free education, they also don’t typically donate to sports.. this is all a free market I want my team to win thing.

I agree.
It was obvious to anyone paying attention that we'd eventually reach the point where college athletes would be able to make money off their name and remain eligible. Instead of getting out ahead of it and setting up a structure with salary caps and guidelines, the NCAA held out and let the courts decide. Now it's a free for all (which I kinda suspect the NCAA wanted out of spite the whole time to show what happens when the schools don't let them regulate things).

Doesn’t Mizzou have a law now that high school players can make money with NIL as long as they commit to an instate school?
