Sexton will nix Pittman’s “this is my last job” talk in a hurry.

Irwin is the one who tried to make the pirate a thing just because he thought the pressers would be entertaining.

Pittman said again in his bowl presser that this is his last job. So there’s that

He was pretty adament that he isn't going anywhere, but the first thing he mentioned was money for his staff.

It's obvious Arkansas is still trying to small time their way to winning and Pitt knows this shite won't stand in the SEC, especially with OU and Texas in their backyard now.

Arkansas admin and BoT still operate like they're in the SWC or some little podunck school with no money when they're sitting there getting $50+M/yr from the SEC offices alone.

Just by conference market rate, both coordinators should be making $2+/yr and Pitt should be making $5-6 million, and Sam knows it. I'm sure HY gets alot of pressure from the BoT about being as cheap as he can be.

His agent was Mark Henry’s wife I believe.

nope

Lots of folks saying Oklahoma is interested in him.

nope, and he's already stated he's staying here regardless, so it would be a moot point even if that were true

One could also surmise that he is listening to OU and had a falling out with the Henry’s because of it.

So we’re just pulling stuff straight out of our asses now, right?

This is sadly reminiscent of the Musselman contract extension, wherein our fans spent 2 weeks after the Baylor game spraying verbal diarrhea all over the radio and boards and conjuring all sorts of bullshite about Yurachek not paying coaches…until the raise and extension was announced on April 14th.

Just keep it incentive based. Can't have pittboss losing his edge.

Yep. HY splashed the cash for Muss and basically signed Van Horn to a life time deal this year. We aren't completely batshit crazy about throwing around money like A&M but so far under Yurachek we haven't been shy about opening up the pocket book either.

Now we did cut salaries last year and take out a loan to help cover some facility debt incurred by the previous AD administration but that was because of COVID. All of our head coaches took a 10% cut in salary, HY took a 15% cut, and most staff took a 7.5% cut. As of this summer everyone's salaries are back to normal and all of our coaches agreed to the pay cuts.

We did not, however, lay off any staff, cut any sports programs, or force any employees on furlough. LSU, as an example, only took 5% off their coaches salaries but laid off a shite ton of people in their Athletic Department. Ohio State and Michigan furloughed employees and fired people.

Basically all the big wigs in our sports took a one year hit in pay to keep the day to day staff employed.

If there’s one thing we can all believe in, it’s that nobody on this board or any other knows jack shite.

We all called the Musselman hire and Pittman hire like 3 weeks before it happened.

I would assume the only person who knows what is happening is Yuracheck and Pittman.
