It sucks to be on the final year or start of new coach with the schedule next season. Probably the best home slate in my lifetime.

Hire a guy quick who’s a master of the portal and we can be competitive year 1

Of those are you examples the add pittboss to the list as well.
Underperforming previously isn't the same as immediate improvement.
Arkansas is currently underperforming as you watch, but outside of BYU not on paper

Completely agree.
My point is that building a program is not a 4-5 year process anymore. It’s not a 2-3 year death sentence to make a coaching change

17 of those were to G5 programs.
It’s mind blowing that this is so common with us now that it doesn’t even register in the national media. I remember when we lost to ULM that it was a huge deal and all over College Football Final that night.

It happens a lot and not just with Arkansas.
Usually when they lose to those teams, they often have a bad season.

Yeah better G5 teams out there with transfers today. Not the same as back then.
Posted on 10/8/23 at 7:49 pm to DaleDenton
Yes but Arkansas should still beat those teams like any power five school.
That was and still is a problem.

Here is the problem with this, there aren’t OLinemen in the portal. At least not great ones. It’s skill
Players and d linemen for the most part.

Norvell's use of the portal has him knocking on the door of the playoffs this season and FSU looks as good as anybody.
Too bad he had too much baggage to coach here. (Sarcasm alert)

These are just some starters from some teams I looked at that I know are having better seasons than we are. It may not be many, but there were dudes out there.

Cool but this also isn’t his first year, he has had 3 full recruiting cycles. Going into his 5th total… so where is this amazing recruiter at?

We got 1 starter ourselves, Braun, from Florida. Can't say that he has made a huge impact, but I haven't 'watched tape' and analyzed individual players yet.

Yeah… I think we all see all of this. I just don’t think it matters with tptb. Many on here talk about continuing to pay for tickets and showing up for games - want a new coach when the current one is failing, don’t give any revenue or viewership to a program. It’s a simple formula. Unfortunately, this doesn’t happen here and good decisions are never made at a high level regarding football because too much booster and BOT personal influence reigns unchecked. If we aren’t willing to hire a competent coach and not have people higher up telling them too much, it’s always going to be the same. We have literally sucked for over a decade because of this.

He was brought in to make us competitive in the SEC again and I guess he's done that .... but I'm tired of "competing" it's time to win.... we have no excuses at this point

I used to have that mentality. Until I realized that nobody who could do anything about it gave AF about football. Agree and have an upvote.

If we don't turn it around and make a bowl he's fired sans somehow beating Bama which would also save him
