Schools start down here Monday. Masks optional.

Our school did real well last year with masks. After seeing what's happening in Marion I don't feel very optimistic about this school year because many kids won't be wearing them.

God Bless us all.

So I work in health care and have taken covid about as serious as anyone over the last 18 months, but...

Rieder said the mounting pressure on medical personnel forced him to take action, issuing an executive order to close all city park playgrounds, swimming areas, restrooms and other indoor and outdoor facilities that pose a risk of infection.

Closing parks and playgrounds is fricking stupid. Outdoor spread is virtually non-existent and I haven't read anything during the rise of the Delta variant that shows any difference. Do things that are actually going to work.

Yeah, this shite drives me crazy. Hone in on the actual areas where spread is occurring. City parks ain't it. This sort of overreach is also the bullshite that gives credibility to the anti-vax nutters.

The University of Arkansas is requiring masks on its campuses after a judge temporarily blocked the state’s law banning mask mandates.

The board on Wednesday unanimously approved a resolution requiring campuses to develop face mask policies for indoor settings, regardless of vaccination status.

Or we could just make it optional and if your child
Is in the group with cancer, leukemia, or immuno compromised stay at home.

I’ve know it at least 100 kids who have tested positive in the last two weeks and 0 ended up with more than light flu symptoms. Get herd immunity established and quit destroying our children’s education.

Sincerely,

A parent with two children in public schools

I keep seeing this from Asa.

Contradicts the information that AR sends to HHS:

Allegedly the school board meeting in Siloam was crazy

They voted no masks but they tried to hide the meeting by going virtual

The number reported today was 333334. A few got better, some died opening more beds. The number was 8 at one point this week, that changes, just like all the other numbers.

I saw a report today rom a legal type, that Schools that do not institute measures as recommended by the CDC and other health officials, are likely exposed to liability lawsuits that would not be covered by insurance. Even if they were to win in court, the cost of fighting said lawsuits is likely to be prohibitive.

Assuming this to be correct, most school systems are likely to backtrack on no masks once a couple lawsuits are filled. And you can be sure they will be filled.

The CDC recommendations also says not to eat medium rare beef, but that doesn’t stop restaurants.

Good for Siloam.

It seems Rutledge got tired of waiting for Asa to file an appeal and did so through AG office on Fox decision

The Mediterranean state of Gibralter has a 116% vaccination rate. The nation has seen a 2500% spike in cases since June.
