Where Mike goes, majority of tardville will follow.

This is going to be an ugly, ugly season.

Mike doesn't call for firings unless he's told it's safe to do so.

BOT meeting next week, does Hunter make to the next BOT meeting early December?

I don't like Mike and he is grouchy as hell but he is one of the very few in the media that isn't retarded .

It's actually year 14 and counting.

I actually feel bad for Sam having given a bit more thought to his situation. He'd probably still be our coach and we'd be consistently middle of the pack at bare minimum if his hiring didn't coincide with NIL taking over the game. He'd have been a damn good coach to have before unlimited free agency became the name of the game in college football.

Anyone with any power at the U of A has to know that a successful football program has the capacity to lift all boats in terms of revenue, right? It also helps attract more students.
If that's the case, then we are the PTB allowing this nonsense? Is it just HY making these hiring decisions alone and if so, who is backing him and why?
Even other SEC teams' shitty hires are better than our shitty hires. Every damned time.

I don't feel bad for him and Arkansas would still continue the decline if he had stayed.

I don't know. He handled things fine before NIL really took off and became the monster it is now. He had no way of knowing college football was about to become a less structured NFL when he decided to try his hand at being a HC for the first time. The job description completely changed after he took the job. He was much more suited to the classic recruiting structure and growing a consistent group of guys over the course of multiple seasons.
Not saying we would have been winning the SEC or anything, but we wouldn't have had the dips into 4-8 territory, IMO.

Pittman was going to retire before he got a call from Arkansas.
He inherited a group full of seniors and super seniors in his first two years.
He prepared his nest egg by firing his agent and hired Jimmy Sexton to scare Arkansas, Yuracheck for more money.
That doesn't come off as a coach ready for a long term stay.
They failed to meet expectations in 2022 and put it on cruise control in 2023. Pittman was expected to be terminated but was saved by the Petrino hire.
After that he didn't care what happened to him as long as he got his money.
A coach that said I didn't know what to do isn't suited for any era of college football.
Pittman had more talented teams than this current team.
He lost multiple one possession games because he was a terrible game manager.
He was a bad coach.
Silverfield is average but the situation is so bad here that he doesn't have the capabilities to overcome these hurdles.

He completely abandoned hs/instate recruiting and was relying on the portal.
NIL has little to do with recruiting and development of players who would be apt to staying with the program. Pittman became lazy after the 9 win season, just as we saw from Berts staff he was in after a "successful" season.
This is how you get boat raced by Utah who has less money for talent and less talent on paper. Recruiting, coaching, development can and will avoid 1-2 win seasons.
People aren't expecting/demanding a national championship. They really aren't expecting or demanding 8+ win seasons. All they are asking for is effort and competence shown which would lead to a competitive team, something every fanbase has received but for some reason that is too tall of a task for Hunter to hire for Arkansas.
