Cryptic messages on a different board a fun to read. Some of those guys are wizards at creating a cult like following while never being right about anything
At least Duckman compensated everybody for it.

Do we even know what RL's buyout is? I'd imagine it's pretty hefty considering he took SMU to the CFP last year. I'm hoping it's large enough for us to not even consider him.

RL isn't a bad coach but we have no idea if he can compete week in and week out against the big boys.
I'm hoping BP gets the team to buy in, they go on a run, create stability, NIL makes a big jump and it becomes obvious that's the right play.
Otherwise you basically are going to have fruitbasket turnover.
Maybe that's bad and maybe that isn't.... depends on the rest of the season.
clearly we have talent on offense.... I think there is some on defense, but it's either underused, or not enough to compete.
Regardless, there's a lot still to shake out.
I was driving last night and the thought crossed my mind,
What about Chris Kleiman at K-state.... won a ton at NDState and has won at KState.... ???
Matt Campbell is another guy that seems prime for a move... IDK if he wants in the SEC but he wins.
Those 2 names just kind of stuck with me last night out of the blue.

I would be irrationally excited about this. Iowa State won 11 games last year and were last in Big 12 talent composite

Agreed.
IDK if the culture fit would be right but the guy is one heck of a football coach

He was the head coach at Toledo when they beat our arse under bert. I’ve also thought kleiman would be a great pick as well. Target midwestern coaches who are used to being forced into developing talent.

Many on this board, myself included, have been hoping we’d look at Campbell back since Bert. Surprised he’s still at Iowa State.

How do people feel about Sumrall? I'm becoming more excited by the prospect of him

Honestly I'm more than willing to take the chance. It cant be worse than Pittman and even if we stabilize with 7-8 wins with 9-10 every 3-4 years it would set us up well for a breakout. In 5 to 6 years as he hits his stride for his age.
I don't know how well he recruits, but I'm impressed by his resume based on his age.

Probably the best up and comer candidate.
Would align with the future coaching salaries where it's less for HC and more for assistant pool than current and past.
NIL budgets and funds would be critical in getting him. He has had very good NIL situations compared to competition at Troy and Tulane.
Basically he would be the lowest paid HC if a top 5 NIL budget was available, meaning all he wants to do is win.
With this in mind HY will never contact him because the a Florida and Kentucky jobs may open up next month.

I hope they balk at that 30 mil buyout for a basketball school

I’m afraid RL would be successful enough (7-8 wins) to hang around for 6+ years and further divide the fan base when we need to make a change.
If I’m honest, I’d take 7-8 wins per year. Win the games you are supposed to and be competitive otherwise. That would be a massive step up from the Pittman years.

Didn't see this posted here yet. Bobby got his d-line coach apparently. Jay Hayes out of the NFL. I'm not really familiar with him.

I think BP turns it around and keeps the job.

If this happens, more the reason to have fired Cuckachek for not firing Sam two years ago.

Seriously. I don't see how Hunter isn't completely handcuffed to Petrino and what he can do over the next few weeks. He brought Petrino as a stop gap to keep sam here two more years and appease the fanbase somewhat, which was really stupid then and were paying for it now. If we don't completely turn it around the next few games they should fire Hunter and let Bobby go and move on from this latest debacle in Hogs Football Hell

Iowa State struggled bigly with stAte a couple weeks ago. If it wasn't botch coaching the game, they probably win.

For the Franklin isn't that bad Penn State is being unrealistic crowd.
The first minutes of this season UCLA had had a lead in a game occured today vs Penn State.
