LINK

If I knew how to embed the video, I would. We need a thread on how to do some of this stuff from someone who has patience for an old fart like me, lol.

Anywho... He is very vocal supporting Hunter...

A Bit surprised. FWIW

Why are you surprised? We are heavily invested in basketball I'm sure Cal is very happy.

And what he said is true we've talked about it on here before about other schools taking out loans to pay for NIL getting in massive debt that isn't sustainable. It's pretty crazy that's a thing. Taking money from academics, students fees etc just to stay afloat. That list includes Indiana this year, Ohio State, UCLA among many others. FSU is half a billion in debt.

To embed, instead of clicking the "link" button next to the reply box, simply click the "<>" button and add your copied link there. From one somewhat old fart to, I'm guessing, an even older fart.

Also given Trumps statement just now it sounds as if the college sports act is going to get passed so it's all about to change again and Hunter played it well. Kudos to Cal for his work in it and realizing the work of others around him to get it done.

Pretty crazy that some of these schools would go into massive debt like that.

Wonder if they assumed they would get bailed out by the gubment when they go tits up.

Hopefully they don't get bailed out and they fail.

Reminder: Cal answers to no-one, Hunter would get laughed out of Cals office.

I am sure Cal doesn’t want another AD coming in and upsetting the apple cart.

I think that's it. Hunter stays out of Cal's way, so of course he prefers him over the unknown.

As long as the next AD is competent, I don't think it would be an issue.

Hunter isn't going to be fired.

Too many supporters.

They won't care and when they get any criticisms, they will just blame the fans for not showing up.

This is what I said, if Cal was chasing dollars like the football and baseball teams were, then he wouldn’t be happy right now.

Lucky Silverfield isn’t having to go head to head with Cal on October 24th.

I think his point is just we shouldn’t have to sacrifice football just to have a decent basketball team

You don't.

Arkansas has too many moving parts that can't agree on anything.

It has or will turn into the days before Frank Broyles came to Arkansas where the state didn't care much about the razorbacks.

I don't give a flying blue fricking hell about the debt our athletic dept. is in.

What I do care about is winning.

The analog chess that Yurachek is playing sure seems to be working well in football. We continue to sink further into the abyss of the football world and fan support and interest continues to plummet.

HY’s job should be to succeed in both but he sure seems to prioritize one a hell of a lot more than the other

By design, at this point. He has a hall of fame, NC C winning coach at one spot...

A Memphis State (always will be) retread at the other... With DFrickingVH at another. Dude... Football is way down the totem poll as far as importance at this time because of revenue sharing / nil and lack of fan support. It is a fantastic turn of events.

as far as support of fans showing up, percentage wise...Basketball and Baseball trump Football immensely at this time.

Until the funding formula and NIL changes some for football.. this is the sign of the times, and it won't change until....
