Anyone else seeing the parallels between Petrino's rebuild and Morris'?

Obviously Bryant isn't on campus yet, but if Morris can snag him, there will be some eerily similar situations to the two coaches' rebuilds. Morris' class is obviously more highly rated, but it's the same makeup. An elite receiver and DL class with a top TE coming in, grabbing a highly-touted transfer QB from a big program. The only difference is we'd only have Bryant for 1 year instead of the 2 we got from Mallett.

I remember this approach working out pretty well last time.

Hows the Volleyball team looking these days, and I don't mean wins and losses.

Yeah and you can argue that Morris has had to work harder for it.

I'd say he definitely has. Petrino at least had a national reputation (good or bad) when he took the job.

I haven't done the math but outside of the two big recuirts from Arkansas in Henry and Burks. I'm fairly certain that Petrino was lucky in signing a good state class.

The receiving class also was one of those "diamond in the rough" things. Wasn't Joe Adams only a 3 star? If I remember correctly, most of those guys were in-state too. Cobi Hamilton was obviously the outlier as a 4 star texas recruit.

Joe was a 4 star. He was committed to USC to probably play DB there

Adams and Wright were 4 stars. Cobi, Childs and Gragg only had 3. Gragg was a low 3 star.

All were instate, except Cobi played on the wrong side of town.

Going through those classes made me see Darius Winston and think about that again

Seems like DBs bust at a pretty high rate for us

It does seem that way but I would bet out of all positions DBs are towards the top in bust rate. Seems like it is not just us that has that issue at times.

Man I had them all completely misremembered

I'm not THAT crazy though am I? Was Cobi a 4 star that got dropped? I could have sworn I saw him as a 4 star at one point.
