Either that or we should only sign like 10 high schoolers and have 15 spots for transfer poaching. Pretty sure I've vented about that on this thread already
Or you can take as many transfers as you want after Spring/during Summer as long as you are under the scholarship limit.

Cons, this would pretty much kill the WalkOn getting the scholarship moment.

Recruiting players on other teams pays off once again for Oklahoma.

Yep. Day before he announced his transfer he was on zoom calls with OU coaches. They contacted him day after spring game.
Best part? They tried to contact Burks first

That’s fricked up. This new transfer rule may hurt us big time if that activity becomes the norm.

How’d you find out the Burks tidbit?

I mean is that not the very definition of tampering??
If the ncaa is going to essentially have free agency then there better Damn well be done deterrents from tampering. But it won't matter. I fully expect someone like Western Kentucky to get hammered while schools like OU, Bama, etc get away with murder in the portal contact

Riley has been doing it for years.

What sucks is you can't really pursue it to catch them or it will be used to negatively recruit against you.

To me, this whole rule change feels like a consolidation of power by the programs at the top of college football right now, done under the guise of giving the players more control over their likeness, etc.
The NCAA kowtowed to the “amateurism is a farce and life is unfair for athletes” outcry, when in reality they were being played by the Nick Sabans and Lincoln Rileys of the world who are going to use and exploit this to exacerbate the talent gap and continue their stranglehold on college football, thus continuing and accelerating the deterioration of a once great sport.

Why? Because when we do it, we will get busted.
But even if we had proof Oklahoma did it, the NCAA wouldn’t do shite?

Oh that player didn’t let our 5 star DT/DE through the whole time?
Bring him over to our school. That’s going to happen, unless the NCAA goes after a big school.
But if they go after a big school the NCAA might disappear.
