Yeah I don't think so. I think we're lucky to win 6 this year, I can see us going 4-8 honestly

I don’t think we’ll be great but I like our chances of beating Texas over any sec team on our schedule I believe they are truly overrated but this will probably be the year Texas is finally back

Tampering and third parties on behalf of schools tell players on other teams if you enter the portal we have a spot for you.
It will be a big, big thing with the 1-time immediate eligibility. It was big before the IE but NCAA won't punish those who do this. IIRC TQ Jackson had the same type thing happen a few years ago.
As for Woods no doubt having Franks with his big arm and the attention other teams gave Burks helped him last season.
Year - Games - No. Yards TD Avg/G
2018 - 10 games - 18 206 1 20.6
2019 - 12 games - 33 423 4 35.2
2020 - 10 games - 32 619 5 61.9
He was never going to be the #1 type WR with Burks on campus and what we've seen on social media his self seeking makes sense for an OU type especially when they ran Rambo off to Miami plus recent WR kicked off for getting arrested.

Anyone who doenst think OU tampered their arse off and a bag man isn't waiting for him as soon as the dotted line is signed is just blind. This had Riley's stench on it from the get-go. They have too many arrests and injuries at WR, so they went dart throwing and probably told Woods that, with their situation, he'd be the #1 starter option in no time.
Amazes me how OU was "looking to the portal for WR" when Woods hadnt even announced yet.

Just another quick update on Arkansas transfer WR Mike Woods. Sources tell me that Woods is doing a Zoom/FaceTime with the Sooners this evening. I know we have heard South Carolina is a player for Woods, but people I talk with seem to think that the Sooners have excellent QB play from starter to backups and that is what the former Arkansas Razorback is looking for, according to a few sources.
At QB, the Sooners have pre-season leading Heisman Candidate Spencer Rattler and five-star/top overall 2021 QB, Caleb Williams, as the main two QBs for Oklahoma. When you add former Penn State transfer QB Micah Bowens to the discussion, that gives the Sooners arguably one of the deepest QB rooms in all of college football.
The Sooners also have a need at WR, and several openings, with the likelihood of Trejan Bridges, at the very least, missing time in 2021 due to his ongoing investigation. There are some solid sources that I have spoken with, that seem to think Bridges return to OU is unlikely at this time -- even if charges are never filled, etc. We will wait till the investigation is complete, however, before we jump to that conclusion.
Oklahoma also has WR Theo Wease out for the spring with a lower leg injury and obviously, the removal of Obi Obialo from the Oklahoma roster will be discussed by Lincoln Riley at the next presser that he is in attendance. Those three, along with the multiple transfers, have the Sooners looking for a potential major upgrade in the transfer portal and the former Hog fits that description with his ability to stretch the field and make big plays.
We will dig around and see about some of the South Carolina talks in regards to Woods, but sources I talk to this afternoon seem to feel like the Sooners and Lincoln Riley are in a solid spot to pickup Woods out of the portal if things continue to move in the right direction and both sides see it as a good fit.
We will update you all when we get more information.
I will also have some interesting Braylin Presley news that pertains to the Sooners tomorrow. The Bixby (OK) star is committing tomorrow at 530 pm and it most definitely won't be the Sooners without an offer extended to the OKPreps star, but there is some news you will find interesting on the Presley front tomorrow, so stay tuned to all of that and more.

UPDATE
As for the Mike Woods transfer deal? It does seem to be moving in the right direction.
********
*** I have been doing some digging around on what OU might do at the WR position and was told, “Arkansas WR transfer Mike Woods is a guy that there is mutual interest in OU and him and in the Sooners.”
Woods fits what Oklahoma needs at WR right now and a source told me, “Yes, there has been talks between the two and if he chose OU he would be coming into a perfect situation.”
This is in the beginning stages, but I could see this thing becoming a reality in the next week or so if both sides feel it’s best for each other.
Something to watch for sure.

Yeah they 100% recruited him away. I’m sure it was through a 3rd party but there’s no way it didn’t happen.

This is sad the college football has come to this shite.
Oh well, it'll only get worse as the rules favor it.
D league football, not that far away.

Have to take the good with the bad. Our baseball and basketball teams just reloads with transfers.

Yep. I'm sure N. Kentucky wasn't happy with us for taking Jalen Tate. Nor Indiana for Justin Smith. We have already done the same to other schools so we can't really be mad when it happens to us.
At least it's a position where we have plenty of options. Probably why Woods made the decision he did. Hell we are getting back 3 guys we wouldn't have at WR just from the covid year.

Actually Indiana was laughing at us for taking Smith

I doubt our coaches were in talks under the table with the players before they entered the portal.

I guess basketball has always had more of it, plus one and dones, so I've always thought it was different for hoops.
Football used to require a commitment. It's one thing if you graduated and want to play your last year elsewhere. I know this isn't really the case here, but moving for playing time is often the result of getting beat out by better players, which I think players should have to consider in their initial decision. But you could root for guys to get better in the off-season and show up big the following year. Now if you they don't play, they just transfer
Moving for coaches sucks too. You commit to a school, not a coach

IDK man... If the portal and transferring benefits the Hogs, all for it...
Case in point, Chad Morris moving didn't suck one bit.

Basketball is a lot different though because you can lose a guy and then replace him the next day. In football you can't if your signing class (that you completed months ago) is already full. NCAA really needs to adjust the initial counter rule if they're giving everyone free reign to transfer like this.
Either that or we should only sign like 10 high schoolers and have 15 spots for transfer poaching. Pretty sure I've vented about that on this thread already

This might not be a bad idea. We could have NFL evaluators on staff to look at sophomores on other teams at smaller conferences.
