Just scooped up Texas Tech transfer Hudson White. Probably our starter next year. Great defensively, can call his own game and has pop. Was the Big 12 freshman of the year in 2022.

I don't see him playing if he can't shore up his defense. He's basically a Polk with a lot better bat. At least, he will provide good competition for the 2 incoming freshmen, Waid and Helfrick.

I figured at least one of him and Jones would be a portal attrition.

I hope we don't lose Jones, but I also wouldn't blame him either.

The scouting report I read called him “decorated defensive backstop.”

He had 9 errors and 10 PB's. Rowland only had 1 error. I know it's nitpicking, but we all know DVH will go defense first at C.

Hudson White is a top 50 projected pick in the 2024 draft, B12 FOY in 2022 and was #315 overall on PG out of HS with a 10 grade.

He's the starter.

Rowland and Polk hitting below the mendoza line isn't going to work for a SEC team.

Rowland hit .182/.293/.238 overall, .159/.245/.159 against SEC competition and having .738 SBA% throwing out 11 runners.

Polk hit .190/.342/.310 overall, .188/.176/.438 and had .842 SBA% only throwing out 3 runners.

I’m willing to show DVH the math on a catcher with 1 error and a slugging % of .230 versus a catcher with 10 errors and a slugging % of .550.

Listen. I don't want Rowland or Polk, but this past season was a prime example of DVH's preference of defense over offense. This kid could also play 1B as well if anything.

Pass balls is 90% effort. If he has the arm to throw out base runners, DVH will have him playing good defense.

Rowland, Diggs and Cali all got much better defensively over the year.

Cooper Weiss, who is visiting soon, could be that. Plus, some of the '23 class could be that. There's starting to be some hope that Walker Martin will make it to campus.

Rumor that Chase Burns has hit the portal. He’d be a huge get.

That would be a huge blow for 10rc. Can you imagine how pissed off Vitello would be if Dave picked him up?

I wonder why he is leaving.

Have been rumors out earlier in the week he would enter the portal and head to LSU.

I'll lose even more hope of us ever winning a natty if Jay Johnson wins one in his 2nd season at LSU. LSU has been wandering around in the desert for the past five seasons.

We are the most winningest program in the country since 2018, but we can't break through and get the ultimate prize.

How can we be so snake bit?

That’ll suck. He can be the face of our staff along with Smith.
