Most LSU fans would probably tell you the first reason, but I believe it is because of LSU thinking they can steal game #2.
Pitching one day sooner than normal is no big deal for a college pitcher. They usually have a heavy bullpen day between games anyway. So not a big issue to shorten it by a single day.
DVH switched his order around, so we will be going Lefty, Lefty to start the series. I would imagine that may have been DVH calculating that JJ may go this route for saving their ace for game 2.
Definitely a big series this weekend. Sort of wish LSU had a better last few weekends so this was a top 2-3 matchup.
