Something from last night that shouldn’t be overlooked — LSU’s last 10 outs were strikeouts.

Also 13 of their final 15 outs were strikeouts. That’s every out except 2 starting from the 5th inning onward.

we do have some things to clean up on the base paths, and those are simply...well...correctable. DVH was pissed about it last night and spoke to it in his presser.

DVH was absolutely irate when it happened (you could see him visibly saying “that’s fricking bullshite”) and he was ripping arse in the dugout. That’s good to see.

I anticipate the base running issues getting addressed and cleaned up with quickness, especially since it’s at the feet (no pun intended) of some upperclassmen and not freshmen stumblebumbling around.

2013… Man, that was a weird season. Preseason number one. Offense was nothing special, pitching was the best we’ve ever seen, defense was atrocious. Gave up 166 runs that season with only 115 earned, in 66 games. Crazy good.

Nate owns this stat. Until he teaches hitting for average instead of swinging for the fences, DVH will never hoist the trophy.

Hunter Dietz is available if needed. I would hope that we have a decent lead, if he is brought in.

That AB in the 7th where he drew a bases loaded walk was the best AB he’s had here.
By far. Sat offspeed when the count ran up and did just enough to foul off the fastballs in the zone. Professional at-bat in a huge spot.

Hate playing Lovich in LF with the wind the way it is

More shitty defense giving up runs that shouldn't be scored.

We're not going to get away with this in June.

Holt should be our 3rd baseman.

Wasn't he horrible defensively at 3rd? I think that's what's keeping him off.

No 3rd is his natural position we moved him to 2B last year due to Stovall injury. He won the job to start the year and then Sandlot won it back.

I'd pinch hit Holt for Sandlot here.

ETA - holy shite what a play on the bunt by LSU's 1B

Did the coach send him? I didn't see.

If not, just another stupid baserunning mistake.

It was a safety squeeze. When Sandlot didn't make the third baseman field the ball Aloy was cooked no matter what

I get that, but the whole part of a safety squeeze is that you go back if it's not put down correctly. Aloy wasn't running on the pitch, but treated it like it was a suicide after the fact. Just a weird sequence.
