Hard to believe they beat both Baylor and UCONN in the same season and it ended like that

We ran Gary Blair off and then hired Jimmy fricking Dykes.

After Susy Gardner.

Program deserves all it gets at this point.

With the big ten clearly being overrated we should have been a 2 seed.

Watched them a few times this year. Watched them beat Baylor and UConn. Then tried to watch a couple other games and they were just unwatchable for me. More selfish than bad Notae.

Neighbors is a 9-11 loss a year coach anyway. This year was probably his ceiling.

Don’t really care about women’s hoops but I think he and that team fooled some hog fans this year.

Watching LSU play makes me appreciate Muss even more.

LSU has all the talent in the world, but they play careless on both sides of the floor.

First, I don’t hate Mike Anderson...

But watching LSU tonight was watching a Mike Anderson coached team.

Yup. They just give up when their circus stuff isn’t going in as well. Michigan +200 live bet was the easiest money I’ve made all tourney.

Been doing a little research about ORU’s first two games, and they really didn’t have any business winning either one.

Both OSU and Florida turned the ball over uncharacteristically, and that didn’t have much to do with ORU’s defense. They rank #249 in defensive efficiency. The issue was neither team took ORU seriously, and they were lazy with the ball. I’d call both teams DULL when it came to passing and protecting the ball.

OSU lost because they didn’t feel like they had to play their best to beat a 15 seed. Even then, they had a chance to win in regulation or send it to double overtime and they just choked.

Another thing ORU did was simply not guard the players from Ohio State who weren’t a threat to score. They won’t have this luxury against us, every player on the floor is a scoring threat.

Florida lost because Mike White is an idiot. He apparently didn’t scout ORU after their first game, because Abmas and Obanor both almost got 30 again after they just did it against Ohio State. Inexplicably, after having control the entire game and getting an 11 point lead in the second half, White decided to try and slow it down and play not to lose. ORU didn’t slow down, and Florida didn’t hit shots. So Oral Roberts continued to play fast and score, and when Florida got the ball they’d use the whole shot clock and then miss. This alone allowed ORU to get back in the game.

Florida also had a season high number of turnovers, which shouldn’t be attributed to ORU’s defense as they just don’t have the type of defense to turn you over a ton. Florida was just lazy with the ball, and I believe it was psychological like in the Ohio State game. They didn’t think they needed to play that hard to beat a 15.

In both games, take away even one turnover and ORU loses. I know ORU won the games, but I say all this to show how both their games were uncharacteristic and not indicative of how either team played the whole season. Not saying that won’t happen against us, I just think we’ll be more prepared and definitely won’t take ORU lightly.

I think we match up almost too well with ORU defensively. Smith should be able to handle Obanor, and I like Moody on him as well if he hangs around the perimeter and doesn’t move inside. Put Davis on Abmas or treat him like Sharife Cooper and double him as soon as he crosses half court.

He’s not anywhere near Shariffe Cooper good needing to be doubled.

Despite what the announcers might have had you think being the greatest white dude since Larry Bird, Davis just shut down McClung, holding him to 5 points from the field.

Notae can spell him too, his active hands and feet have been impressive.

He plays in a weaker conference for sure but Abmas averaged almost 10 PPG more than McClung on a higher shooting percentage. He'll get his but not sure it will be enough to keep up with us.

I thought Austin Reaves was more impressive. He got 27 points against Gonzaga.

Only had 11 against us earlier.

He did light up Okie State though for 33.

Just throw Devo on him and he will cause him a ton of problems one way or the other.

It also is very dependent on what the team has to work with as well, one reason that doubling Cooper was good was the lack of offense from the other players around him. We could afford to do that because the likelihood of another Auburn player torching us was very low.

That really is different with Oral Roberts though. You don't want to double because Abmas will be looking for Obanor who is almost an as equally dangerous player. They have others you can knock down open deep shots as well.

The most interesting thing will be how we handle screens between Abmas and Obanor, Oral Roberts has scored a ton of points that way throughout the season.

Really good breakdown. Sounds like we're not gonna play vanover again against them based on that we will go to our small ball lineup often.
