not too early for some.

IMO an elite 8 and an elite recruiting class buys you more time than this.

This should be considered a bad start no matter what the context is for arkansas basketball but partly why some are overly upset is the standard Muss set towards the end of last year and in the postseason.

A few notes from Muss's press conference

-Talked about he has never gone back into the office after dinner to look at film but they are still actively trying to figure out how to get better.

-Hired an analytic team to assess what they can do better and how to improve the team, said he has never done that before in the middle of the season.

-Johnson has continued to earn himself more minutes

-Asked about using more zone defense to help the defensive issues. Muss said they work on it in practice but it performs worse than their man to man.

-Discussed how over his tenure as a coach his teams have normally performed much better in 2nd halves vs this one. Said he might try not to make as many adjustments because he isn't sure why it has been working well most years but this one.

-Rebounding is a great measure of effort and felt like the effort was there in the last game to win.

The only thing guaranteed is that Arkansas fans will overreact.

It's the first 0-3 start to SEC play since 2009.

2009.

It's not the end of the world, but let's not act like it's returning to the norm either.

it's disappointing but assuming they can win some games this year at some point it won't be end of the world just disappointing.

I like our chances to win this one. If it's not this one, idk which one it'll be.

I wonder if we can pick up Kirby Smart in the transfer portal. He showed his springs on the last INT.

Can't be worse than what we've seen.

Agree. If the kids don’t pick up a win here tonight…this season is about to be loooong. Auburn, LSU, and Kentucky will soundly blow our doors off.

Hopefully Muss can some how scratch out 6-7 league wins with this bunch.

We’re a 14 point favorite. It’s now or never.

I’d give Muss another year no matter what because if the incoming class.

However he needs to do something with it. Anything less than a sweet sixteen and he could be on the hot seat

With all due respect…which likely isn’t that much really….that’s asinine.

Elite 8 last year with a tough loss to the NC. Top 2 recruiting class signed.

And you put that out there with this much season left no doubt.

That’s not my definition of a fan or even a knowledgeable critic. Sounds more like a has been wanna be pontificating on what he actually has zero real experience with.

But seriously, if we don't take advantage of this one at home... we have no hope.

Muss deserves time, and in no way should be on the hotseat outside of the regular angry posters on here, sometimes a team just doesn't gel the way you'd expect despite their talent and coaching.

I think this team has even caught him by surprise, and they have some ugly losses hanging over them now that surely gets in their heads. It'll take an injection of new talent and a new outlook to fix this spiral if we lose tonight.

If we manage to win, I think this is where we begin to turn this shitshow around

If he bombs this year and the next then yes he could be fired. He isn't going to get the Mike Anderson treatment. He was fired because he couldn't consistently make the NCAA tournament each year. Arkansas was beyond patient. Muss is expected to make the tournament each year and not miss 3-4 years like Anderson did. Muss understands he needs to keep the momentum going and having a few bad years will give him some heat.

Nothing gets you quickly to the door by missing the tournament then again and again.

Win tonight then he can avoid a 2009 season. If not then he needs to make the next year a huge priority because it could show where the program is headed after a bad year.
