Milroe played a bad game against Tennessee, no doubt at all. He played okay against Vandy. I think he was dinged up in that game more than people know. He was missing open guys in ways he just doesn't usually do.

He played well against LSU. He missed Henderson on a deep ball but other than that played well. Had a drop or two.

I went back to look at the game.

He made a lot of great throws. Throws where the guy caught it with a chance to keep momentum and get extra yards. Almost none of the throws require adjustment from the receiver.

His incompletions.
1st - Tipped at the line
2nd - Desperation throw to avoid a loss on a run play that was blown up.
3rd - Missed Ryan Williams by a couple inches on a deep pass in pouring rain.
4th - Missed Henderson on a deep pass.
5th - Nowhere to throw on a busted looking play, so he threw it away.
6th - Hit Law in the hands for a first down and he dropped it. Accurate pass.

So of his 6 incomplete passes only 1 was a legit miss and 1 was just bit off. He played great in the passing game. Not good, great.

There will be an 8 page thread titled “Jalen Milroe Killed Alabama Football,”

which include multiple posters calling him a retard, and claiming that he has some kind of black magic spell on the team and coaches.

This shows how much you know.
There’s film.

Single reads, no checkdowns, stared down receivers, etc., etc., etc..

Film don’t lie, my friend.

Being critical of Milroe is fine because I still have my doubts we can win a game where a defense can consistently force Milroe to hand off or get ran down on the edge while keeping him in the pocket on passing downs.

My doubts were justified. This guy cannot produce if he can't be a factor in the run game. He cannot operate as a pocket passer. He does not throw catchable balls on anything crossing the field or short to medium. It makes routine plays difficult and sometimes turns big plays into modest gains, losses, incompletions, or worse.

He has no feel for the defense. He seems to operate off hunches rather than what his eyes are seeing. So he will keep when he should give and give when he should keep. He will throw it right to defenders who he thinks shouldn't be there.

I'm sick of this shite. I want the Milroe era to be over as soon as possible. Realistically in 4 to 8 quarters but I wouldn't even care if it were sooner at this juncture. I've seen enough. He's not grown one damn bit since Texas '23. His entire career reputation is built on LSU's defense being abysmal, Smart having a curse against coping with running QBs with a big arm, and 4th and 31 fluke. Just about every quality defense he's seen other than Georgia has made him look stupid.

It was apparent against A&M in 2022 that he was a severely flawed QB. How he went on to be a two year starter for Alabama is mindblowing. Every available resource should have been devoted to find a better alternative in 2023. DeBoer should’ve had a true open competition for the spot this past year. He shouldn’t have let Milroe’s performative leadership fool him into thinking he was truly the answer at QB.

While I honestly think that's what DeBoer wanted I do believe he felt he was in danger of more roster turnover if he went in another direction other than Milroe.

By all accounts, Alabama boosters/NIL group attempted to buy Drake Maye away from UNC but he stayed loyal to his family's alma mater instead of chasing money and a ring. I think there was a broad understanding - to whatever degree can exist - between the staff and money people that Alabama needed a transfer quarterback but they couldn't seal the deal on their preferred target and missed out on other opportunities.

It is also sort of understandable how Milroe ended up the starter in 2023. He had 14 starts under his belt (1 in 2022 and 13 in 2023) and you've got to hope that you're the staff to unlock his potential given all his raw athletic ability.

Really, the Tennessee game was the moment it was becoming clear that nothing had really changed with Milroe's game from 2023 now that teams had gotten a read on this staff's approach on offense with him. He got a reprieve with Mizzou being a MASH unit and LSU being LSU on defense. Then he ran into another quality defense and looked like September 2023 Jalen Milroe in November 2024.

I don't think it was apparent that Milroe was an outright lost cause until tonight. At least to me because lets remember what September 2015 Coker looked like compared to November 2015 Coker. Players can grow over time...but not Jalen Milroe. He's the same player he was at the start of last season that got him benched for a lacrosse player.

I've never seen a PR campaign from a college QB like that. Shaking hands and kissing babies shouldn't cement a starting position at a premier program.

Then again, this is a new era of college athletics, so maybe DeBoer really was hamstrung trying to balance keeping the roster together and trying to coach his way around a moron at QB.

There were plenty of hints, even in games where he played well.

The helmet communication rule may be one of the worst things that could have happened for whatever limited development Milroe may have been able to have. The coaches were able to hold his hand and help him read the defensive alignment (because he straight up cannot do it on his own. He's too dumb.)

I can't wait for a new QB. Literally anyone else will do.

Yes. Immediately. If he wants to play one more year in college, he can hit the portal.
