I think Doug Marrone will leave after the playoffs.

Nick got into some detail about the offensive line play after the AU game. The OL has had close to 100 practice sessions since Doug took the whistle.

“I think we gotta play more physical,” Saban said the media on Monday. “I think we’ve gotta be more aggressive in terms of how we come out of our hips, play with power, whatever it is. We’ve gotta try and dictate when we’re in the run game and get moving. We did a better job of that in the second half. And we gotta try to give our players a chance with some advantage runs when we do try to run the ball. So pass protection was an issue at times. But we just gotta do a better job of staying square. The quarterback’s gotta do a better job in the pocket so that the O-line knows where he’s going to be.

“So there’s a lot of things we need to work on when it comes to pressures. We gotta have a good plan for how we block them. There’s a lot of things that I think we’re capable of improving and I have a lot of confidence that the players will go about it the right to get it done this week.”

I’m not sure Brady is all that and he admitted he doesn’t like recruiting. I think there are better options.

On Pruitt: He's not coming back until the Tennessee get resolved.. and it may not be anytime soon. not only that, He would need NCAA to say that he's not going to get hit with a charge in the near future.

Now, the coaching wheel is almost over... Golding/Kelly/BOB has been linked to several jobs, and yet... still here. In the past, we've had news break out the night before the SEC Championship or after SEC Championship. Today is Monday.

I Do think we'll hire someone out of the blue and it'll be a good hire, not sure when/what/how/who.

Then, when BoB takes a HC job somewhere, Bama can scoop up Joe Brady

Joe Brady didn't even call plays for LSU's championship team. He designed their schemes and helped implement offensive concepts similar to what Doug Nussmeier did for Sark at Washington.

On Golding, once again lots of folks need to be reminded that the most important Alabama fan on the planet who goes by the name of tGOAT has thus far appeared to be satisfied with his performance.

If it's good enough for Mr. Goat, I'm not going to second guess him.

As far as Golding taking a job at LSU, my opinion would be whatever floats his boat. I can see the desire to prove yourself at this level when you won't be viewed as just the guy running Saban's defense but I think it would be a risky career move (unless Saban encourages him to move on). I have no worries about an impact on Alabama. As noted above, Mr. Goat is still here so all will be fine.

I will attend the "seeing off" party if he goes to LSU.

Then we bring back Pruitt.

Kelly is retaining Raymond and Faulk.

ETA: Looks like Kelly said he is still evaluating his staff and hasn't confirmed he is keeping them. If he loses those guys he and his fake southern accent might not be long for Red Stick.

My understanding is that LSU was wanting to retain them and mainly for recruiting. Yes great at what they do but without them Kelly will have a hard time pulling recruits, especially instate. He would be an idiot to let them go right now and the honeymoon would end quickly for Kelly if they joined Saban at UA.

Pruitt is untouchable until the NCAA clears Tennessee, and they haven't even sent an NOA yet. They haven't agreed to accept Tennessee's self-imposed sanctions, as of November 4.

Golding going to LSU would be a lateral move that does not enhance his resumé...not unlike Nussmeier leaving Alabama to go to Michigan.

Going to Michigan didn't hurt Nussmeer's resumé, if all he wanted is to be a career assistant. He left Alabama, took the same position at Michgan, then the same position at Florida, and then became the TE coach for the Dallas Cowboys and now is their QB coach. Maybe Nussmeer's career has followed the path he wanted. Maybe his goal was the NFL.

But if Golding wants to be a head coach one day, I don't see how going to LSU helps him. Maybe it's Saban's way of easing him out, as some has suggested happened with Nussmeier.

I'm pretty sure that Saban...encouraged...Nussmeier to go to Michigan, or at least was just fine with it.

Then he must have been online gaming, as each shot of him in the booth all season had him checking off plays and blowing up his headset while Steve Ensminger typically looked like he was sipping tea on the front porch staring at the cows.

It would be possibly the best Christmas gift I have ever received if he left for anywhere else

Raymond would be a great recruiter, but his DB coaching and Saban's wouldn't mix, at least in man-to-man techniques.

I think this is wrong. I’m pretty sure Brady called all 3rd Down and Red Zone plays

Does Pruitt not have the right to a quick due process so he can go back to work ?

And Tennessee did all this to themselves so they wouldn't have to pay Pruitt buy out ?

Holy shite, I simply can't imagine the lack of competence from an administration standpoint to allow this situation to spiral like this.

Nope. That is a constitutional guarantee in criminal cases - and even then if you were to say an NCAA level 1 accusation would be equal to a felony, a year before trial wouldn't be uncommon at all.

Maybe, but I have my doubts. Back during the season, Pruitt's attorney made a big show of saying he was going to file suit if UT didn't settle by October 29th. It is December 6th and no suit has been filed.

Until the facts are out in public, we don't know if it is incompetence or not. Going back to the lawsuit threat, UT didn't blink and Pruitt didn't file. That strongly suggests to me that they think they're on solid ground and Pruitt's side was bluffing.

I agree it looks out of control but if they self reported to the NCAA, they don't have any further ability to control the investigative timeline - and as Will "Strong assed offer" Wade has shown that timeline is measured in eons.

It's way past time to let the "bring Pruitt home" hope go away.

Golding has done a great job this year - look at where bama’s defense is ranked.

I hope we keep this staff another year and from all accounts I think there is a good chance of it happening
