Two names I’ve heard circulating as possible candidates to join Brian Kelly’s staff at #LSU are on the field at Mercedes Benz Stadium — UGA WR coach/PG coordinator Cortez Hankton + Alabama DC/LB coach Pete Golding

Both on SEC staffs. Both Louisiana natives. Both highly regarded

By who, exactly? People who aren't very good at regarding?

If hiring Kelly didn't guarantee continued relative mediocrity for LSU, hiring Golding will.

I say we give LSU money to give him a sign-on bonus.

I'm indifferent.

"Content" is how I feel about Golding at Bama. There's been problems, but all and all he's been a good DC. There are huge shadows cast on that spot, so standards are skewed with the successes of Smart and Pruitt.

At the same time, I feel confident Bama could find someone, at the very worst, just as good as Golding.

Golding will kill it recruiting for them. Have to give him that.

It's the playcalling and player development part which gives us nightmares.

By the time he gets there, we'll still be waiting on one of his delayed blitz plays to develop.

I think he's doing a poor job here and think we'd be better off without him, but I can't tell if that's because he's a bad DC or just a bad fit with the way Saban wants our defense to operate. Bad ILB position coach, either way, I'd say. So, idk . Could be a good DC that we're just handicapping and would make us pay if he went to a division rival, but I doubt it.

Indifferent

But, I'd be happy if Pruitt finally comes back.

Then, when BoB takes a HC job somewhere, Bama can scoop up Joe Brady

I don’t even care about him being an average DC...I care more about him being a terrible ILB coach.

Can we bring Pruitt back or is it too soon?

I think the more interesting question is which coaches do Bama fans want to keep. Many want BoB, Martine and Golding gone.

Bill O'Brien
Offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach

Pete Golding
Defensive coordinator/Inside linebackers coach

Charles Kelly
Associate Defensive Coordinator/Safeties coach

Drew Svoboda
Special teams coordinator/Tight end coach

Robert Gillespie
Running backs coach

Jay Valai
Cornerbacks coach

Doug Marrone
Offensive line coach

Holmon Wiggins
Wide receivers coach

Sal Sunseri
Outside linebackers coach

Freddie Roach
Defensive line coach

David Ballou
Strength and conditioning

UGA WR are traditionally underachievers

Alabama ILBs have been lost since the day Golding arrived.

Not sure why they coveted either, but more power to them. If we can trust what we heard about Pruitt already expressing a desire to come back then hell yes they can have golding.

Is Pruitt going to be able to work in the SEC next year ?

Hope Charles Kelly goes and we replace him with Corey Raymond from LSU.

Obviously we need Marrone gone, BOB and Golding.

Kelly is retaining Raymond and Faulk.

ETA: Looks like Kelly said he is still evaluating his staff and hasn't confirmed he is keeping them. If he loses those guys he and his fake southern accent might not be long for Red Stick.

For the 199,999,9999th time Pruitt isn’t getting a college job until the NCAA stuff at Tennessee gets resolved.
