so great why has Saban not started him over Jalen? Please share your expert opinion on how Saban operates here. You make this so easy but it is entertaining so thank you

Did the world end? Where am I celebrating?

I believe two things. First Saban will make adjustments and we will be a contender once again. Second I think Tua will win the job in the spring.

I just would like to see what the offense could be like with Tua at QB, Jalen at the H back, Damien Harris in the backfield, and Juedy at WR. That's a lot of potential, IMO.

Seriously dude your just making your self look stupid. One qb is a potential first rounder the other is undraftable. You better hope tua doesn't start the bowl game because this post will really make you look stupid. Bookmarked.

Undraftable? C'mon man u might wanna check some 2020 mock drafts and jh is on them. I get he didn't play well but this pinning the loss on one guy is pitiful

mock draft 2020? Can we get a link please, which one are you talking about? If he is drafted its not going to be at qb.

Tua wasn’t ready to start this year, I think he got as much PT as needed for any true freshman. Hurts got thrown to the wolves early and developed into our best chance to win it all this year. I honestly believe Tua takes over next year. But this year, Hurts was our best chance to win.

Its really simple to me.

Jalen Hurts:

24-2 starting QB as TRUE sophomore.
First-team All-SEC (2016)
SEC Offensive Player of the Year (2016)
SEC Freshman of the Year (2016)
36 total TD's in one season (2016- Bama record)
5 total TD's in one game (2016- Bama record, tied)
Was 2 minutes away from winning the National Championship as only the 2nd true freshman QB in history.

AND FOOTBALL IS A DEVELOPMENTAL GAME, especially at QB.

I realize we struggled and lost ONE big game and that sucks, but let's have some perspective and not lose sight of the big picture of what kind of impact this kid has had in just under 2 years.

What post are you freaking referring to. That I said I am not celebrating or where I think Saban will make adjustments or I think Tua wins the job next fall.

Seems you may be the one like others on here that seem to know more then Saban. Maybe we should fire him and hire you guys.

Some on here can not because they are so far out there on that ledge.

ALABAMA is 24-2 over the past two years. You don't know that they wouldn't have been 26-0 with a different QB. That said, Jalen was the best we had at the time, so he played.

Awards picked by media members mean absolutely nothing in regards to how good a player is. They look at stats. If Jalen had played for Vandy, do you think he'd have won those awards?

The TD records are also largely dependent on the rest of the team.

ALABAMA was 2 minutes away from winning a NC with a true freshman at QB. If that QB could have moved the offense more, the defense probably would have held on.

Yes, football should be a developmental game.

I have nothing against Jalen. I just don't think he's a great QB. I don't think Jamie Mosely is a great LB. It is what it is.

And had he been able to actually pass the ball and help sustain a drive longer than 6 plays the entire game, those last drives aren't needed.

Like you said, it's a developmental game and he has actually regressed this year. Completion percentage down, TD's down. Even after crafting the offense around him improvements aren't there and he can still only read half the field.

Look he had an impressive Freshman year, but hasn't moved his game forward. We struggle to maintain offensive momentum with him at the helm. He is simply limited at one half of his responsibilities as a QB and not showing the potential to improve. Look at any of the games against solid competition this year, he was a liability.

I just don't think we win the "biggest of big" games with #2 at qb. However, I don't think Saban makes any change next year - I hope he will, but i just don't see it happening.

Than it will be another disappointment. We will have this same song and dance every year. Stack the box and put a spy on Hurts.. game over.

Like I said in another thread. If it goes down this way, we'll be watching highlights of Tua tearing it up at UCLA.

Tua has played more this year than any backup I can remember in recent years.

Do you honestly think that any coach in America would bench the conference offensive player of the year in favor of a freshman? Bench a guy that nearly had 3,000 passing and 1,000 rushing with 36 touchdowns for an untested freshman? Bench a guy that put his team ahead in the championship game with 2 minutes left for a guy that's never taken a college snap?

I really like Tua, and honestly think he should be the starter next year, but you can't seriously believe that Saban would put in a freshman QB when he has a player like Jalen right there.

Jalen needs to voluntarily step down in the best interest of Alabama football.

He isn’t even Blake sims..lol

I love Jalen he has had to shoulder a lot.. we were a shite show at QB last year until he stepped up. Tua needed a year to learn the system. Next year it’s Tua time.. if not I might quit on my 8 Tide Pride seats.. getting expensive to be so frustrated. I might take up fishing..haha. Heard it’s relaxing
