the duel threat approach has been a liabilty to our program. Bring back the McCarrons, McElroys, Cokers of the world. We need a passer and a strong OL. PROBLEM SOLVED.

If Bama had Coker last year, they would have destroyed everyone.

If Jalen is going to be The Man at QB going forward then Nick and staff are going to have to really upgrade the defense. Jalen has maxed out at QB. I really like the kid but he lacks the confidence to let it go and that will not change. Coach Bryant would have loved to have Jalen back in the 70's.

That's because we don't have a duel threat.

I see what you did there.
Let me say it this way. Our attempt to have a duel threat QB has been a liability to the program.

Because we lost a game? We have lost a game or two every single year except for 1, and that was 8 fricking years ago. And we had worse QB play that year than we have had the last two years. It sucks that we lost to Auburn, but we lost to worse teams than that when we had AJ, GMac, Sims, etc at the helm. You people need to catch your breaths.

Hurts would be a fantastic HBack that would get his share of touches

Funkytide is spot on. Love McElroy but he was abysmal for a month ...jpw was a game manager in every sense and so was aj until middle of 2012. It's one game relax. We just gotta get the online back to being nasty

It’s not just one game - it was the two biggest games in his short career.

Is a 19 year old not afforded a few bad games in his career as a two season starter? Lord knows hes had some great games. Tua is not a better qb right now. If he transfers so be it but Hurts is too solid to throw away. Thankfully the coaches make these decisions and not armchair fans.

Maybe I need to get new specs because I sure as hell don't see what some of you fellows see in Hurts. He is not a good QB now and he never will be. Damn, some of you folks are blind as a bat.

Coker had a Joe Flacco'ish Playoff run. That shite was crazy but I don't know if he could continue it up.

What in the world are you thinking? Your ready to throw away the best qb prospect we have had in years for a guy that has demonstrated no ability to generate any passing game against good competition?

He did say one reasonable thing. Thankfully the coaches will make these decisions and it's a pretty good bet that come next season, Tagovailoa will be the starting qb.

The oline in 2015 played much better second half of the year than we have seen in recent memory and kiffin was excellent st hiding the faults of our offense although I personally feel we may have sacrificed development issues for that but I am not a employed in any football analysis capacity so that could just be my blind assumption.
Ive heard a lot of talk about best qb prospect in the Saban years so while Tua looks good, I'm not ready to brand him as deshaun Watson 2.0 quite yet - a heisman qb who had an excellent defense every year he was st Clemson and also lost a few games here and there before pulling out a championship. The coaching staff will make the call, I expect it to be Tua and if it isn't I don't think it will be because of some sort of seniority.

Saban needs to read these posts. We can save him a lot of time and grief. What’s wrong with him?

I'm pretty sure he was in the locker room after the game when things finally came to a head. If a non insider peon like me could see that there has been a problem most of the year, it's a pretty good bet that Saban knew it all along.
