Will Anderson named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year
Will Anderson Jr., the club's third overall selection and very next pick after Stroud this past April, started in 13 games, totaling 45 tackles including 10 tackles for loss, 67 pressures, 7.0 sacks, one pass defensed and one blocked field goal. Anderson's 7.0 sacks this season set a new rookie franchise record for most sacks in a single-season and his 67 pressures led all rookies in the NFL this year. Anderson turned in arguably his best performance of the season in the Week 13 win against Denver, in which he racked up five tackles (three solo), 2.0 sacks, four quarterback hits, two tackles for loss and one pass defensed. He also made his presence felt on special teams in Week 3 at Jacksonville when he blocked a field goal, becoming the first Texans rookie to block a field goal since J.J. Watt in 2011. Anderson also had a pair of sacks in Week 17 against Tennessee, and a six-tackle game in Week 5 at Atlanta.

Will Anderson was a starter on that 2020 team. He got a ring.
I knew from the jump vs Mizzou that he was a superstar.

You really want to get hot under the collar about it ? Golding will be trying to recruit kids as "Will Andersons position coach" for years to come.
Truly dislike him for so many reasons.

Jordan Battle was on the All-Rookie team too and Branch was a snub. We also had Turner, Braswell, and Kool-aid in 21 & 22. Golding is a football terrorist.

Those are great stats and all but how was he dropping into coverage?

You're gonna have to go to his college tape for that cut-up. Demeco ain't a chump.

Seriously? That's surprising.

Hellams was a solid starter for the Falcons. Ricks also started some games for the Eagles, too.
I'm so fricking mad about last years team. Was every bit as talented as UGA. Coaching really held us back.

Hiring coaching not recruiting is what did Nick Saban in and made him tap out. Ever since the end of 2017 season, there was a broad decline with one saving grace being getting Sark and Flood for 2 years. The problem reached critical mass ever since Sark and Flood left. No phase of the team was really on solid footing since the start of 2021.

And he's was just too old to develop young coaches with potential

I’m sure I’ll get down voted for this but my theory on the less than stellar assistant coaching hires was in part due to CNS being a 24K hard arse at all times and while it looks great that you worked for him, some really good assistants took the attitude of “Thanks but no thanks”.
I also think CNS’s age worked against him toward the end in coaching hires in the sense some potential assistants may have been wary to take the job when it was pretty apparent CNS wasn’t going to be around much longer.
