Another "I'll not be an Alabama fan as long as Saban is coach" yet here you are on an Alabama football board.

Who the hell knows what the landscape looks like in 2026? I’d keep an eye on Dan Lanning though.

I honestly don't care at the moment.

I am fully prepared mentally for not being the target of everyone's ire, and the championships that comes along with that. We have had an embarrassment of riches with football glory.

Not to be a lack of a contribution to the thread, I just don't care yet. When it's more of an impending thing, I'll start keying in. It's still 5-10 years out as far as I can tell.

Maybe when it starts to FEEL like he's gonna retire, i'll care.

He's a scared bitch.

If the SEC was too much for him...how's stepping in Saban's shoes gonna somehow be better.

A clone of Nick Saban that is even better than the original.

I'm there. It wouldn't be the same but nothing will ever be.

At the end of the day, Saban will likely have some input, and I would absolutely defer to him. If I were in charge, I'd definitely say he's got the credibility to pick his successor.

Be careful what you wish for.

His suggestion to LSU when he left was for them to hire Houston Dale Nutt from Arkansas.

That's kinda like asking what vehicle I'd choose to buy 8-10 years from now. I don't know now what'll be available then. Bama's next HC could currently be some obscure position coach.

If Napier is successful at Florida he should get a look.

1. Kirby
2. Dabo
3. Napier
4. Cristobal
5. Kiffin

Doubt Kirby or Cristobal would leave their alma maters...if Napier does as well at UF as I think he will, I'd flip-flop him and Dabo...I like Kiffin but I'd wonder how long he'd stay before wanting to move on (or have a Mike Price moment)...

Leonard is an elite level coach but it's almost certain he'd never come down south. If I were him, I'd stay at Wisconsin too.
Great academics, excellent football support, strong fan base and they do have an outside chance to win nattys there. Leonard is the coach in waiting as it were.

That's definitely the catch22 but honestly, I expect Napier to build Florida into everything Uga is now.

Kiffin, if he can agree to no wide receiver screens and Jet sweeps.

But I think Saban vetos Kiff.

Only if you're OK with the occasional loss to Vandy.

Stanford was 3-9 this year. One of those 3 was against Cristobal.
