What will be the determining factor(s) for the UGA @ UA game?
My guess...
(1) Alabama stopping/slowing the UGA inside run game. That will likely come down the LB play and attacking the LoS & gap sound.
If the run game does not hammer Alabama, the pass rush will be able to shake Beck's confidence. If the UGA run game gets going, itwill take the pass rush out of the flow of the game.
(2) Mistakes / turnovers / penalties

Does UGA respect Milroe or just go after him and dare him to beat the pressure.

Our biggest issues are LB and CB but somehow it's always about Milroe with some...
If we want to win we need our LBs to not get blocked easily, get downfield and make tackles to force UGA to have to pass. Then we need those young DBs to not get bear so easily.
The offense will take care of itself.

Alabama WRs+TEs v. Georgia DBs
Georgia's DBs are the strength of their defense. Can Alabama new-look WR corp get free for the big plays as they have through 3 games?
Georgia WRs+TEs v. Alabama DBs
Alabama's DBs, particularly the corners, are the biggest question mark position group on the team this year. Georgia's passing offense looked pitiful v. Kentucky but Alabama's corners have lost guys in the backend that I think Beck and his eligible receivers will complete unlike the prior competition.
Alabama OL v. Georgia DL
This doesn't seem like quite the same DL group as Georgia has touted the last three years but Alabama's OL situation has been up and down all season. This is the key to the game in my opinion. I think DeBoer and Sheridan will scheme some big plays if the OL can just hold up in pass pro and win their fair share in run block.

Idk why any team wouldn't blitz the crap out of milroe.

He breaks loose from time to time and that can cost you in the stretch. I’m curious to see how they play him.

Biggest issue is our secondary vs their wr. Feels like this is the week they finally get exposed.
It is unlikely we can score into the thirties, we just are consistent on offense. Expect 2 quarters of three n outs. Alabama WR core struggled to get open against lesser competition. The main offense will be milroe extending plays which will be boom or bust

Our DBs will be the determining factor in my opinion. Our defense needs to shut down UGA quickly and not let them get off big plays.

Gotta get pressure on Beck, get some clean hits on him; if he has time to throw, he’s very accurate and will pick us apart over the middle and on the seams…
…and our OL…as they go, so goes our offense…

Turnovers. UGA is a higher caliber team that you cannot give gifts to. Just one stupid mistake could cost us the game, tbh.

On offense it comes down to Jalen playing with poise. We need the oline to help him out with few penalties and a clean pocket. No bonehead plays. We have a great scheme and great skill players.
On defense we have to get after the QB. Also gotta stop that freshman RB. The front seven can win this game for us.

I thought we were a better team than last year, but after reading the comments about our defense I may have to re think that. I thought our defense was getting better game to game. Georgia will definitely let us know where we stand.

1. How prepared will the O line be for the pressure from UGA. I think UGA will blitz pretty much every single play.
2. Milroe not panicking and retreating back instead of stepping up into the pocket.
The rest, I'm pretty sure Bama will be fine. Make no mistake, Bama will get several clean yet vicious licks in on Beck.

Will Georgia treat our OL like turnstiles? If Milroe has protection, we win

There was a pretty good film breakdown on youtube this week (even though the host is a bit of a chode). The takeaway was that Proctor and Roberts are the weakest spots on the Oline. They are still good, but there are some things that need to get cleaned up. Maybe Tw1sted can give us some input. But the film shows that Proctor plays too high and doesnt plant well against a bull rush. Roberts plays very aggressive so sometimes he gets over his feet and falls down. But other times he knocks guys 4 yards off their spot.
To me the concern is at LT. We know that JM isnt gonna step up in the pocket. We need Proctor to have a good game.

me either, but kirby has displayed a complete mental bedcrapping when it comes to defensive game planning in 2 of the last 3 matchups, so this aspect is certainly worrisome from our end.

IMO it's tackling and deep ball coverage.
I know I'm a broken record in game threads, but our tackling this year has been atrocious. Our guys try to tackle around the shoulder pads, get run over, and give up extra yards after contact. That needs to stop so that the defense can get off the field, instead of giving up long, time-consuming drives (even if they don't result in points).
The other obvious concern is deep ball coverage. Our DBs has been burnt on several deep patterns where the opposing QB flat-out missed the open guys. If that doesn't get cleaned up, we'll be in big trouble.

Admittedly I know very little about you teams capabilities. That said, I don't see our OL opening up the inside running game. They didn't against KY until late in game when their issue with depth started to show. I don't think ya'll have a problem with depth. OG Tate Ratledge is out and won't be back. He was the veteran on the line that could have went Pro last year, but decided to come back. He won't be back for weeks if then, so that's another chink in our armor.
We haven't shown we have an ability to stretch the field vertically. Bowers and McConkey are gone and no one has really emerged an THE playmaker at receiver.
Our QB Beck seemed to regress a bit with happy feet when KY brought pressure. It seemed to effect his psyche and thus his throws. Not very comforting.
Based on the above, if our receivers can't get separation from your young secondary allowing you to stack the box against the short throws and the run it's gonna be a long day to be a Dawg.
Our secondary is our strength and it's gonna be interesting to see how Kirby deploys them against Milroe. Georgia's Achilles Heel against Bama has always been your QB. Milroe is no Young but he was still the one player that determined your win against us last year. He's good enough.
Our DL is still banged up with several starters out. They may or may not be back.
It shoud be a good game, and yeah, I'm always a nervous wreck prior to this game. Regardless of how it plays out, I'm grateful to be here, to be part of your board and wish you the best with the rest of your season. Just hope we don't have to play you again down the road.

Because he may be more dangerous when you lose containment as a runner than he is as a passer. Just my humble opinion.
