Deboer.

Give me a coach above the Pac12/Sunbelt level who isn’t a beta male coward afraid of his own 20-year-old players.

The thing where the QB stands in front of the tunnel and gives all the players and staff a five.

Bryce started that shite, Jalen copied it. It's fricking cringey.
None of our NC winning QBs did that. None of our QBs who were actually great leaders ever did that. It's like performative leadership

When CKD was filling out his staff, I was hoping Iowa’s DC (Phil Parker) would get a look. The guy does more with less every year and has pretty much nothing to work with, yet Iowa always has a solid, sometimes elite defense.

He only makes $300,000 per year, which is chump change for a good DC.

Phil Parker makes 1.9 million a year.

I say our defensive scheme, I hate it. We don't seem able to change to a different formation from it in crucial situations.

The scheme is fine. Having the experience and talent to execute it consistently has been the issue

It is fair to wonder if he’s going to figure out how to meet the high standards in Tuscaloosa but I’m not ready to say that…

I think Saban's scheme was built to out scheme opponents because it's a lot more complex than what most do defensively. I think Wommacks scheme is a lot more simple but it does allow younger players to contribute earlier and play faster. Wommacks scheme relies on guys making plays and winning their 1 on 1 matchup... which can be a problem when the talent isn't executing at the level it needs to be.

The defense has done a lot better recently, with a few lapses here and there. They've gotten 10 turnovers the last 3 games. That's the most in at least the last 8 years. They're giving up 16ppg in that stretch.

Now, that said, the defensive performance against Vanderbilt was inexcusable.
