As I've said, there is ZERO chance CKD is fired this year. If he leaves of his own volition (e.g. takes the USC job), that's entirely different but fired? Not gonna happen even if they lose the rest of their games this year.
Why? Because the fact is to buy him out and his assistants, AND bring in a new coaching staff would easily cost $100 million. UA isn't broke but we simply don't have that kind of cash lying around. We also don't have any billionaire donors either.
Now, after next year, assuming we have another mediocre season, it's gets a smidge cheaper and I do believe he would be fired with that. At that point (e.g. after an 8-4 sesaon), UA and the donor class will find the money and buy him out.
Now, what I suspect will happen is Byrne will insist that Grubb must go after this season. Just my 2 cents.

The extension last year was simply a terrible decision when it was an unneeded move.

Well Grubb contract is done in Feb.
So unless he is renewed he's gone.

Then I'll waste my time and explain it to you. Your question is silly because Alabama is a premiere name. We could attract many coaches; even some thats already employed. Also you don't need to know the answer before you search for something. If you are going looking for a wife or employee, you don't need to know exactly who is going to fit the bill until you actually look. So demanding an answer before the search is even started is a very short sighted stance.

If we can make it through today and get a week to rest up and get important dudes back from injuries then we can absolutely win out. When the offense is on and healthy, its one of the best in the country. We made it to the playoffs last year after dropping the first game of the season. To say that its impossible this year is dumb.

I just don't like the lack of consistency from the offense. I'd love for them to win out the reason of the season, and they're definitely talented enough to, but the offense especially is handcuffed.

Funny you say BAMA attracts top tier coaches and the last time BAMA had to hire a coach they hired someone that you want fired after year three.
