I disagree on the milroe portion. Those sacks weren’t on him. He literally had no time because the right tackle was abused all game. Did milroe play well? No. But the sacks weren’t on him.

OL allowed 4 sacks but most of those were on Milroe for not reading an obvious blitz so I actually think they did well in pass pro
Did you watch the same game I did?

SC didn’t have to blitz, their DE ate our lunch. We repeatedly completely whiffed on them on multiple occasions. When we didn’t whiff they carried the tackle back into Milroe’s face.

Biggest positive I saw was when the game was on the line we figured out giving the other QB all day to throw was a bad idea.

South Carolina has two absolute monsters on the defensive line rushing the passer. They might be two of the best in the entire conference.

Adams is very underrated.

Would have played more last year but got hurt early on.

Got hurt this year too, but is wearing an elbow brace.

Three of the sacks which ended drives came on obvious blitzes.

One 3rd down in particular they walked a LB up on the inside gap next to their DE to the shallow side of the field, didn’t even try to mask the blitz which was guaranteed to overload the protection package as originally called, and Milroe didn’t read blitz by adjusting the protection or calling a hot route.

Whether the LB or the DE get home first doesn’t matter at that point, the play was busted as soon as the QB couldn’t identify and adjust to what they were doing.

A simple hot route call with a 7 yard slant from where the LB had vacated and those sacks were conversions. An audible and he could’ve RPO’d strong side away from the pressure and likely found success as well.

AJ/Tua/Mac/Bryce would’ve torched those coverage looks because they were HS level pressure packages.

And yes at times their DE ate our lunch. He’s the best edge guy in the conference right now as a TF and the other guy is damn good as well. There isn’t an OT in the conference who has handled him consistently all season and Pritchett struggles with speed rushes to begin with.

They’ve gotten pressure on everyone they played and might have the best pass rush in the country. Anyone expecting 8 seconds to pass coming in wasn’t being realistic. Jalen to his credit wasn’t retreating like he used to, but he wasn’t seeing the field at all and we easily could’ve lost as a result.

We won, which is huge.

When Milroe isn't derping it up and throwing the ball to the other team, the offense looks good - better than last year.

The defense came up big when they had to. They played with emotion and intensity despite Milroe putting them in bad spots.

Milroe gave up a safety - 2 points
Milroe gave up a FG via interception - 3 points.
Milroe gave up a FG via interception - 3 points.

That's 8 points Milroe gave South Carolina.

Milroe is a bad QB and last year's defense covered his arse. That's not DeBoer's MO - he needs a QB.

Yep. We also didn’t have K Law and Prentice. Should get both of them back for Tennessee.

Didn’t know they’d be back. Very positive

Law went through warm ups and was dressed out. He was held out for precautionary measure. Prentice practiced some this past week but they held him out too. My guess is that both will be ready to go this upcoming week.

They did but they had people running wide open. 2pt conversion by USC was wide open and we had three people in the area. They put themselves in bad positions.

Disagree. Not a world beater but much improved from last year and is a difference maker. We are a far worse team with any of the 5*’s on the bench taking snaps.

If anyone thinks Milroe is a bad QB they’re just dumb. Brandon Avalos was a bad QB. Milroe can be maddening but he’s one of the best QBs in the country.

The thing that made me the happiest was seeing us blitz the QB after the onsides kick recovery. I was terrified we were about to rush only three and drop everyone else into coverage, which has gotten our secondary torched all season long. Instead Wommack actually opted for aggression, which paid off big-time.

Turnovers are good ( so that's the positive) but ...I'm not sure sacks really matter. The odds are there that an offense doesn't overcome the loss of yardage and that down, but opposing offenses keep beating those odds

Sacks matter much more when you don't rush 3 on 3rd and long.

Ok, so you know that. Why in hell are our coaches not scheming around this guy? They should have stopped using the damn clock so much this game and let Jalen do his thing before the defense adjusts.
