There was an article on AL.com a few months ago about the best BBQ joint in AL and I think the one in Florence won

The Smokehouse in Millbrook. They shut down for a few years because of a fire. They recently reopened.

I gotta be honest, I've never understood the love for the Brick Pit. I realize I'm in the minority there so I'm not arguing or anything, just throwing it out there. I've never been a big fan.

No more, sadly. They don't have their pit anymore, although back inthe day, IMHO nothing could beat it

Well, I think one reason is that it's pretty much a given that Dreamland be on this list. The one in Tuscaloosa is great, but Archibald's is better. The one in Birmingham is good too, but I think Full Moon has better ribs.
