Not surprising, dude loved our fast paced offense but picked TTU.

Holy shite if we get him.
Apparently he's a beast on the defensive end. But he's only shooting 28% from the floor.
If Oats fixed Herb, surely he can fix Burnett. He already has the first part of the game (defense), he's another ball handler too.

8 teams that should target Texas Tech transfer Nimari Burnett

Alabama Crimson Tide
One of the best in terms of guard development, head coach Nate Oats turned former Villanova point guard Jahvon Quinerly into an All-SEC caliber player, while Jaden Shackelford leads the team in scoring once again at 13.3 ppg. The overall offense can be appealing for a guard like Burnett and they’re used to having multiple capable ball-handlers on the court.
While the Tide does have five-star 2021 PG commit JD Davison coming in, there’s a real chance that they could lose Shackelford, Quinerly, and senior John Petty. There would be available minutes for Burnett if he chooses Alabama and would be in a better fit offensively.

Would be shocked if we lost both Shack and JQ. I'd be surprised if either of them left tbh.

Yeah I don't see any early draft defections happening. Honestly I'm not even sure we will see any transfers. Maybe Gary, but he has gotten sporadic minutes this year coming off a bad knee injury and should be in the thick of the competition for Herb's minutes next year.

Blessed to receive an offer from The University of Alabama

Big offer for a player many believe will be the best in state for 2023. Coincidentally comes on a day Alabama beats Auburn.

I saw Bone tweet that his dad played football at Bama and his mom played basketball here as well.

Yeah, his dad is John David Phillips - played QB. Was a fairly good player but was mainly a backup later on to Andrew Zow. His mom played bball at Alabama and is Brodie Croyle’s sister / John Croyle’s daughter.
Doesn’t have a lot of offers right now.

Some good genes in that kid's bloodline.

Looks like Georgia offered him as well. Nice to have the family ties there if he continues to develop into a player Bama will want in a few years.

This is the kind of thing that sparks a brief existential crisis for me. I'm getting old. In my mind, "legacy recruit" still means the sons of guys who played for Curry and Stallings, not Dumbose and Fran. frick...even a few Shula guys probably have teenagers by now.

Cade has a couple of years to possibly grow more. He will need to put on good weight if he is expected to play power forward in the SEC.

If he's a pf on the next level then we can expect three years minimum from him.

Damn man, the talent Oats is potentially bringing in is title worthy.

Nah, that is back when he visited before he ever committed to Texas Tech. Supposedly we finished 2nd for him, because he had such a great relationship with an assistant coach named Ulric Maligi.
ETA: He was also really high on Michigan. Pretty sure those were his final three - Tech, Alabama and Michigan.
