It's been pretty quiet. Haven't seen anything recently.

Charles Bediako’s final five is unchanged. Ask the four-star center about them and he’ll tell you all five are the hunt. He’ll also let you know that he speaks with all of them on a near-daily basis. If Bediako has already decided on a school, he does a solid job of playing it off.
“I still have my top five (Alabama, Duke, Texas, Ohio State and Michigan) that are up there and I’m talking to all of them a lot,” he said. “I actually just talked to Ohio State like two hours ago. They were just checking in and making sure everything was good and wishing me good luck on my game.”
Still, Alabama is widely thought to hold an advantage here. Tide assistant Bryan Hodgson has a history of landing and developing talented Canadians, and Bediako could well be the next in line. That said, nothing is set in stone. Bediako seems interested in every school on his list, particularly Texas and Ohio State, both of which could give Bama a serious scare. First, however, the Rivals150 star must settle on a timetable for an announcement, and it seems like he may be close to doing so.
“I don’t know for sure yet. but I’m aiming to announce sometime in January,” he said following a recent game.
Below, Bediako touches on each of his finalists and where things stand as he approaches the end of his recruitment.
ON ALABAMA
“What Coach [Nate] Oats did at Buffalo was incredible. He did a really good job. The thing with Alabama is that I love the pace they play with. They play fast like I play fast. Also, I feel like they can develop me. They do a great job down there.”
ON DUKE
“Obviously, they have great coaches. Everyone knows that. I like that they say the guy I’m most similar to is Mavin Bagley. They say we do some of the same things. That’s a mold I think I could fit into. I love the way they play.”
ON TEXAS
“Coach [Shaka] Smart, the system he runs is good for me. He’s really done a good job with bigs that are similar to me with the way they play. He’s done a good job getting those versatile guys like me into the NBA. That’s good. Also, the coaching staff is full of great people. They have a great style and play above the rim. Also, they have a great strength and conditioning program with Coach [Andrea] Hudy.”
ON OHIO STATE
“They play systematically with their bigs and I like the way they do it. They let the bigs shoot 3s and all that. I mean, that’s not everything to me because I feel like I can do a little bit of everything but I like that they give their bigs freedom. They have a great coaching staff full of great people, too.”
ON MICHIGAN
“I like Michigan. I see Jett [Howard] around campus and we talk but he’s not like recruiting me. He’s a chill guy. I do talk to Jett’s brother, Jace, though. He tried to recruit me. We talk some. He’s cool. I actually talked to [Michigan commit] Caleb [Houstan] one time about it. Right after he committed, we talked and he was trying to get me to commit but that’s about it. Coach Howard is a cool dude and we have a great relationship.”

Five-star Gradey Dick Down to Eight

One of the top small forwards in the class of 2022, 6-foot-7 Gradey Dick of Bel Aire (Kans.) Sunrise Christian has made the first cut in his recruitment leaving a group of Alabama, Baylor, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Purdue and Texas Tech standing.
Ranked No. 43 in the 247Sports top 150, Dick said that he and his family had a lot of time to discuss his recruitment over Christmas Break and that they felt a cut now would help them focus on a smaller group and keep some programs that don't have much of a shot from investing time in him that could be better spent elsewhere.
He discussed each of his final eight schools>
Alabama: “They are one of the more recent schools on my list in terms of when they started recruiting me. What I like about them is what they do with their wings, they are are a guard heavy guard school. I relate to the coaches really well and talk to them a lot."
Baylor: “They were pretty early on me but what stands out about me is that their coaching staff is one of the top ones out there with how they all talk to me and are recruiting me. I respect that. Also their playing style and the wings they have is nice to see.”
Florida: “I had a connection with them because Mike White has a connection to my summer coach LJ (Goolsby) and they know each other from way back. So that and they have been talking to me a lot and I like the way they use their wings.”
Illinois: “They are one of the more recent offers. I like them a lot because their coaches stay updated with me a lot. They went through a vidieo of how they see me fitting in their program as a wing in their system.”
Kansas: “Way back to a showcase that they saw me play in they were one of the earliest to start recruiting me the summer going into my sophomore year. It was really cool to have the home state school like them offer me so early. They've showed me a lot of loyalty and I respect that a lot."
Oklahoma State: “I like their playing style and how they use their guards. One of the biggest things for me was the loyalty that Cade Cunningham showed still going there despite allegations. You can see the pride the players have in the coaches.”
Purdue: “A big part is them being on me early from the start. They’ve stayed with me through the years. My brother also works close in Lafayatte and has been to some games and talks to the coaches. I'm really close to him so that helps."
Texas Tech: “I really like Coach (Chris) Beard and they were also in on me pretty early. They give us good time on the phone to meet, do zooms and stuff and coach thinks highly of me so I’m thankful for that. I like how they take a lot of pride in defense.”
After playing his first two seasons at Wichita (Kans.) Collegiate, Dick -- who runs with KC Run GMC during the summers -- is settling in quite nicely at Sunrise Christian.
“It has been great so far," said Dick. "Not only games, but the biggest thing is practicing against all the competition. It’s good to go against Division One players in competition every day to get ready for college.”
One of the top ranked teams in high school basketball, Sunrise will be jumping back into the thick of things soon and Dick plans to focus his attention on a strong finish to his junior season.
As for a decision, don't look for a college choice anytime soon.
“I think it is pretty early to make decisions," Dick told 247Sports. "The main focus was just getting it down to the eight. We don’t really have any kind of timetable for when I am going to make a commitment."

Good news that should leave some international players for us.

If we close out the class with Bediako and Cardet I will be very happy. I assume we get those two. Cardet is a top 50 player in this class easily imo, glad to see 247 moved him up to 54 recently, he should be higher.
When is the deadline for these guys signing an LOI?

I’d give him another chance to make the right choice if I was Oats.

Bring him on. JD is recruiting him already.
Do we have room for him though?

Holy shite if we get him.
Apparently he's a beast on the defensive end. But he's only shooting 28% from the floor.
