Hopefully, the extra time will help Ty settle down. We saw what he is capable of doing however, I think the stress of playing QB has gotten to him towards the end of the season. He morphed into Milroe. Part of the problem is Grubb's play calling. The first goal should be getting a 1st down, not throwing a 50 yard bomb. If it is 2nd and 1 or 2 run the dang ball! If Ty comes out flat in the first two series against Okie and Deboer doesn't make a change then were are in big trouble.

Well considering we rushed for -3 yesterday, I don’t have much optimism unless Grubb goes back to the drawing board.
We have no chance with the OL we saw yesterday playing at the level they were at health wise.
I tried to tell people how bad Brailsford was due to injury against Auburn, but they didn’t want to hear it and he had to play against UGA because we lost Dewberry.
If we get Dewberry and Brailsford back at the level they were at for OU we averaged 3.8YPC (ignoring sacks).
We would’ve won that game convincingly absent the turnovers or if Ty doesn’t lock up against the blitz in the 2H. People forget he threw for 250+ in the 1H before they made adjustments.
Getting 400 yards against an elite defense while giving away three turnovers is almost impossible statistically when you don’t run tempo so that game was one of the biggest statistical anomalies of the season so far.

This is 2017 Jalen Hurts level bad
It’s much worse than that! At least Hurts wasn’t a head case and afraid! All I see in Simpson’s eyes is fear and despair!

If Deboer rides Ty all the way to another loss over Oklahoma then hes a dead man walking next year.
Ty is regressing in a big way, (also been injured) but he's still better than Milroe, and DeBoer rode Milroe into oblivion so no reason to believe he's not going to ride Ty into oblivion.
DeBoer simply does not consider benching struggling QB's. I have no idea how to explain it.
Everyone keeps begging for Keelon, but Mack is roughly the same size as Cam Newton- he has those long smooth strides that make him sneaky fast, he stands tall in the pocket, he's hard to bring down, he has a cannon for an arm, he has the most time in the DeBoer system (whatever that is)
I'd really like to see Mack get his chance, but if not I'd like to see Mack at the latest after a lackluster first quarter.
What can't be tolerated is watching sub par QB play all the way to the clock striking 00:00 on another embarrassing loss. DeBoer gotta prove he's capable of taking action.

I'm a big believer in the Steve Spurrier way which is give the QB a chance to prove he's got it, but if he doesn't start working down the bench until maybe you find a spark.
I'm all about benching Ty. I was all about benching Milroe. If its bad QB play what do we have to lose by looking for a hot hand ?
I will say however Ty didn't have that panic around his game until he got injured. I think he's been trying to protect an injury, and that simply is not going to work behind this OL and scheme He's a sitting duck back there and he knows it.

If only Chicken’s new rules hadn’t chased off Carlton he’d be here arguing for Mack

I'm glad you mentioned that because I've been noticing that for weeks. He's also changing his release to try to get over the OL at times. It's definitely noticeable.

We are who we are. Folks hoping for an amazing change are grasping at air.
We can beat OU, but it’s going to be by not turning it over, and probably getting a turnover ourselves.

Mack has a lot of potential but Keelon is just different IMO

Yep. LSU almost beat Oklahoma a couple of weeks ago with freaking Michael Van Buren at quarterback.
but did they have Bama OL or Bama QB who cant consistently accurately throw a 5 yd pass or an offense which cannot get 2 yds in two downs

I know it's a totally different sport, but you don't keep starting and playing your point guard when he's turning it over 6 times a game and shooting 20% from the floor.....

Their offense is worse. Or at least on par with ours right now

You’re a propagandist. You spent all night trying to convince everyone that Alabama was “SEC regular season champions”.
We all saw it. Have a good day.

They were. #1 seed. Sorry you got your soft little feelings hurt by the team losing and you need to lash at the team you supposedly root for because of your own personal insecurities
Maybe grow a pair

2 weeks...staff better prepare whoever is #2...have them ready to go with the understanding Ty is going to have a very short leash.
That offensive abomination yesterday cannot be repeated.
It's not Ty per se, its his OC, you have to put down your own pride, I am going to do it my way type of thinking, Kirby did that last night, he's not a big blitz guy, BUT he blitzed last night.
I could in 2 weeks come up with a package to slow down blitzes, Steve Spur. did it in 92 vs. Bama and score 21 points on a great defense by going to the SHOVEL PASS over and over. Buying his QB time on other passes.
We should go big sets on 3rd and 2s and go under center, if we are at the 50 or close and plan on smashing it twice, with a lead blocker like Jessie Williams did for us. In 2009 and 10 when we struggled Saban got us on track with the Wildcat at times.
If you are in the Shotgun, the QB read has to be a part of the running game, else why hand off 5-7 yards deep, BACK DOOR it with a QB run, and run Screens and Shovel Passes on OU, you have to keep these teams off balance, you cant throw 40 times and do nothing but look to medium passes.
The OC is the one screwing up Ty's confidence, he can throw, but the coaches seemingly are too clueless to know how to give him time to throw, by keeping the other team guessing.
