Totally. And he forced Saban to drag his younger brother to the team too. Kinda wishing this guy would have transfered...

“No, I haven’t given it any thought right now,” Saban said at Greystone Golf & Country Club. “We’ve got two guys competing at the position. One was a pansy who wanted to leave at the first signs of adversity, but he is a young kid. We have another guy who can't throw after two years and his dad can suck it. We have a lot of choices and decisions and things we have to make, so we’re not going to really answer questions that are hypothetical in nature, which you seem to love to ask.”
Gah Damn. CNS went hard.

Maybe CNS needs to re-evaluate the whole thing. How many qbs have transferred the last few years? 3 in one year alone, and now Jalen and Tua both have considered it or are considering it. Anybody that thinks Jalen's Dad wasn't talking with Jalen's approval is foolish. You'll notice that not once has Jalen denied what his Dad said.
I don't think, though, that Saban is so out of tune with his players that he hasn't known or at least suspected that neither Hurts nor Tagovailoa have considered transferring out. The elite qbs want to play these days, and they want to play now. Even the qbs that aren't elite want to play, so they are more likely to transfer to a lesser program rather than being buried on a depth chart their whole 4 years. Bateman and Cornwell come immediately to mind, and I don't blame them at all.
There is another thread about Tagovailoa considering a transfer, and there have been plenty about Hurts deficiencies. The article posted above was a positive one, but we can make this one a trash talking thread too, I guess.

Lighten up Francis, the guy typed a light hearted joke in the midst of possible division within the program and fan base.

Possibly division within the program in what way?
The fan base has been pretty divided about Hurts and Tagovailoa for a while now. Some changed their minds by the end of the year.

What am I missing in this thread?

You don't think it's important that his injury is recovering well, or that he's looking forward to competing in the fall?

I have had no reason to doubt this for several weeks now. This is news is the same way that 'my car is still in the garage" is news.

Are you serious? Are you saying that it's newsworthy that one of our returning players is looking forward to competing in the fall? Umm, I believe that to be true for each and every player.
Again, I think most of this "controversy" is fabricated by fan's minds and overzealous 'journalists' who need to get website clicks to generate ad revenue.
This is no team divide. Many Bama fans are illogical. Saban is not mismanaging anything. He literally just managed Bama to its 17th National Championship. The best player will play at each and every position in the fall, and we'll win a buncha games. Some folks will transfer. And the world will keep in spinning. You can get your panties in a wad over it. I will not.

Some have wondered and commented about it.

The fact that he's looking forward to competing at Alabama and not still condidering a transfer is the primary reason I posted the article. I've already said that I think his comments are being taken out of context, but there is a whole long thread with some people fretting over the whole thing.
You say you think the "controversy" is fabricated by fans and journalists, yet an article where Tua himself indicates that he looks forward to fall camp, and you're bitching about it.
Oh, and I never said there was a team divide. That was another poster and I only asked why he tought that.
Weird.

Why did you use the word 'yet'? Tua's comments were not in opposition to anything. It's basic player-speak.
And that's my point. Tua gave a talk to kids about the benefits of seeing things through to the end, which should actually make folks around here feel better, and yet the mild amount of spin in the article caused many posters here to dive deeper into the nonexistent hole of 'team divide' and controversy.
The talented backup QB was (past tense) upset about PT. He's not now, and hasnt been for months. It's literally not fricking news.
An good analogy would be if folks in my town were scared of vampires, and then they learned vampires aren't real. That isn't news to most folks - only the retards who had a different, crazy reality in their minds.
This Bama QB stuff is interesting only in that there's a QB competition with an incumbent starter and hotshot #2, and while coming off a championship. It's not salacious, scandalous, out really out of the ordinary.
It's just not worthy of this much time, arguing, and general forum bullshite. It's a simple QB competition. Get. The frick. Over it.
FYI, these words are for everyone, not just you. Don't take it personally.

@John Milner
Please don't misunderstand me. I am happy and thankful that you posted the article and made the thread. Great job. My words above were only chastising the direction of the conversation that followed. I really appreciate your effort.
