i wonder just how many people stopped reading when they seen, i was thinking of transferring. hmm... how many didnt bother with knowing the setting, and reason for this statement. just how many still have no clue this was all about persevering, about sticking it out, about NOT taking your toys and running to another sand box.
in a non scheduled meeting with a group of jr high kids. tua opened up about persevering and being blessed with where he is now. boom, lets blow it out of proportion.

Since Saban teaches that very same thing, I just figured that Saban may be proud of Tua for trying to stress to those younger kids to persevere.
As previously noted, and as you suggest, I think it's taken way out of context, but as also suggested, the media will run with anything to get more clicks on their website. Doesn't matter if the headling is misleading.
