Trust me Shaft these NFL gm's are going to look at Tua's lack of durability.Got hurt last yr & this yr.He will again next yr whether he's with us or the pro's.But you do have dumbass gm's who'll take a Tribusky over players like Watson Maholmes.I definitely wouldn't take him over more durable can take hits all game long players like Burrow or Lawrence.

He will get paid before taking a snap in the pros, and he will have more time to rehab and train in order to increase his durability (in his case, avoid taking unnecessary hits).

Sure that's fair. But, if Tua would go at #10 and two other QBs go ahead of him. I don't think Tua is mad. And, if Tua will play another season and have no major injuries he will be a top 10 pick.

I think all of us Bama Tua fans would love to see him be fortunate enough to play a whole season whether it's with us or the NFL.He's a winner with bullseye accuracy. He's got to learn to get rid of the ball quicker especially when he's running toward the sideline.

I don’t think Mac is going to get skipped over by Young. It took a whole season and being down by 13 points at halftime in the National Championship game before Saban finally put the “less experienced” Tua in over a QB that, to this day, still cannot consistently throw a football as we saw earlier

You apparently don’t know how Saban operates
For him it’s “once a starter always a starter.”
Seniority doesn’t matter, and if the position is up for grabs, it’s open to freshmen

You just contradicted yourself as Mac is about to be the starter for the third straight game. Also, I’m not saying there will be no QB competition next year, but I’ve seen a lot of posts that just assume Young is it next year. I remember when many thought four-star/top dual threat QB Blake Barnett would come in and easily win the QB position over Coker and the rest QBs in 2015. Looking back, it’s laughable to even think Barnett had a chance. I can’t read Saban’s mind, but I’ve followed his whole tenure at Bama, and I am well aware of how he typically operates...experience typically wins the job over raw talent.

Mac is still playing as the backup QB. He never won the starting job.

My point is that once a player has "won" the job, Saban doesn't like to take it away and give it to some new guy. There is no returning starter at QB unless Tua comes back. There will be an open QB competition.

It could happen but he’d have his money.

We’ll see. It’s a good problem to have with all the talent at QB.

Tua should never have played again this year after the injury vs UT, till he totally healed. Hobbled like he was vs LSU and Miss. State, he wasn't fast or quick enough to avoid the rush or pursuing defenders and he is too determined to complete a play to throw it away.

Fields is a pretty average passer.

I think it's time for Tua to move on. Psychologically, the team could use a clean slate (and a defense). That's before considering the very crowded QB room and the injury concerns. Building the season around Tua only to have him go down again is just asking for a big mess.

Not to mention that, while he loses millions if he drafts low, he loses all his millions if he comes back and breaks again. This seems like a no-brainer. Go get paid, love you forever for 2nd and 26, but let's start fresh with a crew that has to find its own guts and gravel on both sides of the ball.

Whether Mac WON the job or not doesn't change the fact that he IS the starter and by definition will be the returning starter from the last 3 games of the season. And he wouldn't be the first returning starter to lose his job in the fall.

Tua staying for his senior campaign could change the QB room dramatically. If Young steps up in spring ball, Mac Jones might think hard about the pecking order going forward.

Mac came in with Tua. He must be close to having his degree. He could leave here after spring ball as a graduate transfer. If that was the case I really can't complain about guys leaving under those circumstances. It's only fair.

I'm gonna keep saying this. Young is very good qb but he is not ready to start this fall.

Whether Tua stays or goes Mac is in a nice position. Mac is a good QB and would attract a lot of interest if he were to transfer.

One thing that stood out to me in 2017 was how quick and shifty Tua was. Honestly, I feel like we haven’t seen that version of Tua since early 2018. Even this year when he was supposedly “healthy.”

I think there are valid points for Tua to stay and to leave. It’s a really tough decision for him and I could get behind whatever decision he makes. Just hope he doesn’t “tease” Bama fans by making vague posts that make people think he’s staying.
