I wouldn’t mind Lebby at all either but I wonder how realistically that is as well. He just got back to OU last year , just wonder why/if he would leave ?

I think the "best" reason I can come up with is that, if his goal is to be OU HC, it's hard to matriculate upwards if you're on the staff that gets ousted. I think that is more likely than Venables taking another HC job.

I would love Lebby, he runs the ball a lot out of his system(more than Bama in the last 5 years IIRC), but he did land likely the best QB prospect he's ever coached in Jackson Arnold and has also still been actively recruiting for OU. If it's Lebby, I would think it would have been done by now.

You don't think NSD might effect the timing?

Save a LB they got 2 days ago, all of OU's class is either signed or enrolled, and there's not really any uncommitted guys left that are considering OU.

February NSD isn't nearly as important as it used to be...

Possible Johnson will probably wind up back at Florida as HC in a few years

Is it realistic though? Folks are saying there is interest in him for NFL OC jobs.

If Philly's OC gets an NFL HC job, Johnson might get/want a promotion to OC at Philly. If not, I think he might be very interested in the Bama OC job vs other NFL OC opportunities.

BOL put out a hot board 2.0 for OC, anyone know if it’s anything relevant?

Would not hate that . Could do a lot worse plus a college guy

Yeah, he's definitely an intriguing choice. I wouldn't hate it either.

Kellen Moore and Cowboys parted ways. I’m not even sure if I’d want him or not, and he should be able to find another NFL OC job, but mayyyybe?

Are the Oklahoma fans overreacting about Saban's interest in Lebby? Or, is there real smoke there?

Supposedly real smoke. Some coming from the 247 OU staff, and Rodney from TI mentioned it back when it became known that BOB took the Pats job. But keep in mind that the "smoke" is that we talked to Lebby, he originally said he was going to stay at OU, but that we haven't stopped talking to him.

On another note, the BOL mods have already updated the 2.0 OC thread with Washington OC Bryan Grubb. Watts said "Really liked what I saw and the feedback we got about him. We have enough to believe there has been contact between both sides. Hefty price tag for sure." Supposedly he currently makes $2 mil at Washington, so that might make it more difficult to get him if he wants a pay raise.
