You look very dumb right now.

I am embarrassed by the negativity that was shown and hope you didn’t cost us a good coach.

Not sure why Avery would want to stay here long term after he was fired by the majority of the fans a few days ago.

Embarrassing.

I haven't posted a single thing about the basketball coach, but I would note that Mike DuBose beat Steve Spurrier and UF not once, but twice in 1999. Jalen Hurts won an award for most valuable offensive player in the SEC in 2016.

I agree.

The man is in his third year had to fix the mess we were the past decade and put out a team that beat really good teams all year long.

Frontrunners gonna frontrun though.

I love how we're playing now (Sexton especially), but there's still no excuse to end the regular season the way we did.

I get why people would feel that way. It was very frustrating to watch them collapse. It's okay to let them vent. I was getting very close to that edge too.

Alabama has 6 or 7 quadrant one wins so yeah, they did more than just beat one good team twice. Terrible comparison.

i don't know if Avery is a great coach or not yet...however, it isn't his fault his players cannot hit open threes and free throws....I will give credit where credit is due, Avery gets his players open looks!!!

Yep.

Alabama has the 4th youngest team in D1 basketball and is going dancing, great coaching job by Avery. As young and inexperienced as the team is there were going to be some ups and downs, but the team is peaking at the right time.

The future looks bright.

Well most of the angry fans were adamant that youth could not be used as an excuse.

A lot of high horse riding going on now.

We had a major collapse to end the year, just like we did the past two years. We didn’t just lose some of those games, we played sloppy basketball and folded at the first sign of adversity. It wasn’t unreasonable to think the season would end against A&M yesterday. The bare minimum expectation for this team was making the NCAAT. Looks like we accomplished that and I couldn’t be happier.

Kudos to Avery for keeping us from going over into the abyss. Doesn’t mean he didn’t warrant the criticism just a few days ago. It tells me we have passionate fans that care about basketball which goes against the lazy narrative that we don’t care about it.

You can't fix stupid Fever. I bet Data, Phil and the other trolls are pissed we won. They wanted Avery fired so bad they probably have a pit in their stomachs as opposed to excitement in their hearts.

We have zero seniors and one, one and done player. As a matter of fact we only have one player who plays significant minutes who isn't a freshman or sophomore.

I think the whole NCAAT or bust talk was a bit naive to say the least.

It takes more than three years to build back a program who had been to the NCAAT once since 2006. To want Avery fired in year 3 if we barely missed the tournament was beyond ridiculous.

Is it really an end of the season collapse if you lose to five straight tourney teams with single digit seeds?...

I mean, i'll give you Auburn. We should've put up a better fight there, but the other four? A seven seed Arkansas by 3, we kept up with Kentucky at home, we lost to A&M by two, and then we got Florida the game before they blew out UK.

The collapse talk was overhyped. We played a tough stretch and it didn't go our way at all. Sexton himself went 2-18 from 3 during that stretch and it wasn't because of Avery.

Criticism was warranted and no one has argued otherwise. Calling for him to be fired was not warranted and now everyone who did looks like the true idiots that they are. We have a damn good shot at winning the sec tourney and if our team is clicking we could make an elite 8 run. Those of us that are rational fans understand that this is young team that is very talented. Young talented teams win games they shouldn't and lose games they shouldn't. Anyone who doesn't understand that doesn't understand sports and really doesn't understand basketball.

I mean we have 7 quadrant 1 wins and arguably the best PG in the country. Making some sort of run shouldn't be out of the question. I could easily forsee this team making a run or losing in the 1st round.

We have beaten some good teams for sure. Some by a lot.

Is it plausible to make a run... yea. It's plausible. It is it rational.

Looking at our team's recent record in the last 10 games. We are 3-7 ranked 221st offensively, and 102nd defensively.

I'd argue it'd be pretty damn irrational to think we are good enough to be elite eight.

BUT anything can happen in March and hopefully we are heating up.
