It’s not like they haven’t worn white helmets in the past. We lost to Vandy and ULM in the traditional crimson helmets so what difference does it make?

Perkins would have been very successful had he stayed. Was very rough taking over for Coach Bryant.
Had the #1 recruiting class lined up before he took the Tampa Bay job which also included part ownership of the franchise.
32-15-1 over 4 yrs. 3-0 in bowl games.
1983 - 8–4
1984 - 5–6 (Losing Kerry Goode really hurt that year)
1985 - 9–2–1
1986 - 10–3

Definitely the white helmets. I’m old enough to have seen them during Perkins and maybe some of Bear’s later teams and they look good. The folks that scream tradition and don’t mess with the uni, the white helmets WERE tradition, we just quit using them. But I wholeheartedly agree that that is the extent of it: no houndstooth, no black, no gray, that’s bush league.
The problem is even for the white helmets, you’d need Nick to have done it. He had the power, the stones, and the respect to do it. DeBoer has none of those yet. He doesn’t need any more unrest with anyone.

no use for the white helmets. but i do wish we'd get back to the old style crimson. the color today looks more like cardinal than crimson

Bama doesn't need to start jacking around with helmets or uniforms. They already have the best uni/helmet combo in the NCAA.

Yeah yeah yeah, Bama wore white helmets when Bear Bryant was coaching, they also wore socks with stripes and long sleeve jerseys with numbers on the sleeves.
Why not go ahead and put the script A on there or instead go full houndstooth with an Elephant and a red chrome facemask?
We have the best uniforms in CRB, there is absolutely no need to make any changes, one false move and we will wind up with 35 plus uniform combinations.
Hell no to both absolutely not to both of these stupid hypothetical choices.
Saban was smart enough not to make changes, if he didn’t make any no one should.

My vote is to leave the uniforms and helmets as they are. Crimson rules! Roll Tide!
