some aren't gonna like this post but I'm putting it right out there anyway. Yeah, everything seems great with the momentum CNO has the program on now. But here's the rub. While there might be a certain number of fans jumping on the bandwagon, there are probably multiples of that number who are like me in the following regard:
Major college sports has become nothing less than a system of quasi-professional teams with the names of colleges and universities attached to them. As with all pro athletes, these players have virtually ZERO attachment or loyalty to their school/team flavor of the month. Most of them are only loyal to the highest offer/$$$. Period. End of story.
And as such, we former "fans" feel an equal amount of loyalty/attachment to their former favorite team/school. We've had enough and are leaving this mess to whomever the leftover suckers are who choose to throw good money after bad, only to have these rental players jump on the next best available opportunity.
Hope everyone enjoys what's left of the "amateur" sports we once loved.
Looking at your post history (which appears to be all football related until today), you didn't appear to abandon being a fan until Alabama football was eliminated from the playoffs... Then you come to an Alabama basketball post to tell us we are the leftover suckers. It's almost as if you are pissed off that the basketball program is on an upward trajectory while the football program is in a more questionable position.

Really don't care how you judge me as a person or a Bama fan. I now classify myself as a casual/non-emotional followere of UA sports. I enjoy "people watching" as much as the games and such, and it always tickles me to see how prickly and offended Alabama fans get whenever anyone says anything negative, or points out the deficiencies of an Alabama team or program.
Hey, to each his own. If you wanna burn your $$$ on this stuff, more power to you. Some of us are now putting it to other uses or enjoyable pursuits. It's a semi-free county and I choose to exercise that freedom in a manner of my choosing, disregarding the opinions of others.

Cool, see you at the start of football season!

Post this shite in a football thread. This basketball team is good enough to still bring us joy.

I'm my opinion, I still think CBB is a more enjoyable product than NBA. You've still got a huge variety of playing styles. And while we have a very modern NBA like team, the variety makes things much more interesting. There's a lot of ways to win, and you're getting guys to stay that would normally wallow in foreign leagues. Now, they tend to stay longer.

Much more enjoyable. More teams play d and the vast majority put their heart into the games. I think it’s the best sport in business.

If anyone has tickets they won’t be using for the game Sunday, I’ll gladly take them. Looking for a few extras to bring the entire family to the Santa game.

Arkansas state wins against uab. Was down 27.

Good grief, a 27 point 2nd half lead collapse is bad even for UAB. They erased that 27 point deficit in 12 minutes of game time…that’s insane

Arky State should make the tournament this year. Great job by Hodgson.

Just sent. Let me know if you have any issues.

Got them downloaded. Much appreciated
My actual season tickets are in the same section as yours. You’re a few rows beneath the railing and I’m a few above. I think I’ve said it here before but I only have 2 tickets and not for the whole family because I can’t justify the price of that when they’d have the attention span to come to about 3 games max

I'm at the point where I can't even watch a regular-season NBA game, I'll catch some of the postseason games but that's about it. I grew up a die-hard Celtics fan (the early 00s) and barely reacted when they won it all. I think I watched maybe 8 of their postseason games and half of those were from the Finals.
It's just unwatchable for me at this point and hats off to anyone who still watches a majority of games. The optimization of the sport has killed a lot of intrigue and personality in the game. Throw in outrageous contracts, maintenance days, the NBA is more of a player rather than a team sport, and really just how long the season drags and it's just a big no for me.
Compare all of that to the college game and you have big-name coaches, different styles of play, a shorter but impactful regular season, home-court advantages, more rivalry games, more passion, and the greatest thing ever in March Madness.

I agree. Those that want a little barn like the aubs play in, must not be bball ticket holders. I think we are averaging about 1 loss per year the last 3 years at Coleman.

We only get the two and I let the kids duke it out as to who goes with me. We had way better seats back in the day, but dropped them during Grant tenure and had to move up 16 rows when we renewed during Johnson.

Druid City Brewery is a good food option before games. They have good dogs, nachos and chips. Much better and cheaper than Coleman. Nice parking too.

Found out last night that we’re going to the game on Sunday. Christmas present from my kids. First time back home for something other than a funeral in the past few years.
I need a win. I haven’t seen Bama win in person in a long time. My last 3 bball games were OU x2 and Creighton last year. Couple that with going to OU last month for the football game… I’m wondering if I’m the problem.
