I think it'll be Reid just because he's going to be competing with guys like Mo D, Mallette, and Cunningham for minutes while Sherrell is competing with Cliff. His odds of getting starter minutes are significantly better.

The 2/3 combinations are going to be interesting. I think the million dollar question is, will any other guys play different positions than expected. Can Nelson or Stevenson be able to play the wing spot, to allow us to play Cliff and Sherrell together? That would give us 3 6'10-7' players on the court together. Will that extra year allow them to develop that versatility and ball handling? Obviously last year, they weren't there. But another year, and I could see that happening.

Jordan Harper was on SEC14 and I think he nailed our starting lineup:

Those lineups are not an unpopular opinion. It's honestly what I've seen most places.

Off topic, but Harper has such a great Alabama accent, especially with his I's. It's not redneck, but it's thick as hell. I'd pay money to hear him say "Twice the Ice has a nice price."

I think Nelson can play some at the 3. But i dont think Oats likes to play that way. He prefers to have three, sometimes four, ball handlers. Nelson can work some as a wing in a half court set. But i dont know how he is in that spot when we are trying to run. We just havent seen that. But it would put a ton of pressure on opposing defense if they have to worry about getting back quickly after a missed shot. Just have Grant run straight to the rim.

Our roster is super stacked but i guarantee you Oats would trade one of those star 4s for a star 2, just to have faster pace.

I haven’t seen anything new. From what I can tell, it’s still expected to be a NBA assistant.

I mean at this point it has to be someone from the Mavs or Celtics right? There'd be no hold up on announcing a hire from anywhere else.

Celtics' Joe Mazzulla has some philosophical similarities to Oats. Would not be surprised if we're giving some back bench assistant his big break;

Yep. Kinda like we did with Pannone. You're not going to steal a top assistant from an NBA team. But those staffs have tons of great coaching talent waiting for a big break.

This. Same with smaller schools.

The biggest impact will be Philon out of the FRESHMEN.

If he can do what I think he can then this offense will reach new heights. He's a natural point guard and his ability to spray to everybody will open up this offense even more.

Cliff is so quick off his feet with great hands. Superb physique and athleticism. He will be a force like we haven’t had in a while. Definitely way better than Bediako plus he has experience.

I don't know what's funnier. The fact that Broome retweeted a quote from a random Bama fans Twitter account with an unverified quote, or the fact that Bear Bryant's Burner has more followers than Broome.

Could be. I see a pathway to playing time for him. If he can play fast without turning the ball over and hit some open 3s, Nate Oats is gonna get him in the game.

I think most people agree Sears will get fewer minutes just to keep him fresh. When he is getting a breather, it will likely be Philon or Aden. I dont think we will put Trelly in position to be the PG. But with a real rim protector now, Oats will be running a lot of 3 guard lineups. The battle between Aden and Philon to be that 3rd guard will be fun to watch. Consensus seems to be that Philon is a better distributor and Aden is a better shooter. But Youngblood could send both of them to the bench if he fits into the system.

This team has rich man problems. We have two of everything. Having that many good players is going to create incredible competition in practice. The cream will rise.

Broome has had it his own way vs Alabama. Those days are done. He knows it.

IDK, I think Aiden Sherrell will be a top 10 pick in the 2025 draft.

What a luxury.
