I think it's pretty obvious that saying that people tend to project their opinions on things rather than try to look at them through someone else's eyes. What's Paradise for one person is hell for another. Especially when you're talking about the team tied for the most championships in the country's second largest city.

Sure. To each their own. My point is that its not some bama board obscure opinion for people to not like California. Its not California of the 1960s. The place is objectively a shithole in many parts of the state. Crime, traffic, taxes, drought, fires, and big government mandates dont create the utopia that it was cracked up to be.

People and businesses are leaving California in droves. So its not farfetched to think it is a factor that Hurley will surely consider. Sure for 15 mil a year he can go buy a house in the Hollywood Hills and live large. But does he want to bring his family into that world?

The good news is that after Nate wins us a couple of titles over the next 5 years tHangar will suddenly become "historic" Coleman Coliseum and go from old and run down to storied and charming.

Thinking about a road trip to Purdue with my brother and dad for that game with a stop at the gym from Hoosiers along the way. Any advice for those familiar with that neck of the woods? Would be sweet to get a few shots and some 1-on-1 here:

I lived in Ohio for 5 years and dipped into Indiana here and there. It’s cold as shite bro. And overcast and depressing. Bring some vitamin D supplements and maybe look into an SSRI

thought we almost lost Derrion Reid to injury before he even got on campus with that really awkward fall but thankfully he got up and was able to walk off under his own power

More proof that Nate has exorcized the demons and we get to be normal now.

For the first time in my life I am actually looking past football in anticipation of the basketball season. I cannot wait to see this team play.

I also still love football though and if DeBoer coaches them up like he has shown to date at every other stop, they will be fun to watch.

I’ve been this way the last several years honestly. Basketball has been my biggest follow and by far the most fun for me. Not to mention the games are nonstop action, not as long, and much easier to get in and out when attending.

This has been my position since the late 80s . Wimp won me over, but in a weird way. I was young and dumb, but I loved the fact that there were 2 games a week every week for almost 5 months. Were the games as impactful every time as a football game? No, but it was just a great break from life twice a week. I loved the winning but found a way to accept the losing without letting it ruin my life the way football could. These are truly the best years of my life watching what is happening and it's not just the winning. It's watching our fan base evolve. Watching our fan base fall in love with this quirky yankee who is an absolute freak about metrics and is just obsessed. We have always demanded that in football, but now we are watching a basketball coach and program that is demanding the same thing. It's just satisfying is the best way to put it. I know we are no longer happy with just occasionally having a nice year. Our coach demands excellence and everyone who roots for Alabama is starting to notice.

I readily admit, the bar has been raised. I do get heartbroken now with the losses and it does crush me for a day or two afterwards. But this program has done so much alone since Oats has been here I get a bit depressed thinking about him leaving one day. My girls know every player by name and though they aren't as entrenched as me, basketball means a lot to them. Football is still king, but basketball is just different in a way I could never really explain.

Those jerseys are kind of new. The crimson trim around the arm is a new addition.
