I don't know, didn't people say that about Herb Jones? Seriously, what were his prospects after his junior year? People on this board were dogging him for not being able to finish at the rim.

I think the difference is Herb had the height and athleticism that could project to the next level. I’d love for someone to convince Shack that another year at Alabama would help his chances though.

Would not be surprised if Shack returned. Herb got better each of his four years and is making 3.5 mil as a 2nd round pick. Shack likely has good enough NIL money that he may want to get better here rather than overseas. JD likely to do what Shack and Primo did last year. Enter draft, see if he gets a combine invite, and see where he stands.

Looks like the “This should end well” reverse jinx was only good for two games. Still, not as bad as I thought the final score would be. Currently 11th seed in SEC tournament.

maybe the allure of being one of the better players to come through Bama would be worth coming back for.
This is what I’m wondering too. He’d almost surely pass Petty as the all-time leader in 3-pointers and would have a solid chance to be 2nd in points behind Reggie King too.

Who knows? Even after all the drama with his decision last year, maybe he decides now he just wants to cement his legacy with those records here before inevitably making the pro jump the year after. He’s going to be remembered as a great player here either way, but that would truly cement him as an all-time great in my opinion and the career record books would back that up. And he would get his degree in the process.

Positive spin:

He can now say to defenders after a foul, "Nobody better lay a finger on my butterfinger"

They should have struck a deal with Tide's tight end Billingsley...

Vandy is really close to becoming a Q1 at least and all 3 of their remaining games are winnable. Doubt Miami can move up even if they win out unfortunately.

South Dakota State beat Oral Roberts last night to remain unbeaten in their conference. They're something like 22-4 on the year.

That sucks

Still, its wild that our absolute weakest OOC opponent is in the top-half of the Net rankings nationwide

Carolina has won 4 straight, albeit against some not-so-good teams. I hope we aren't overlooking them like we did UGA and Missouri. I still get pissed when I look at UGA's record and see 1-16 in the SEC and remember who the 1 is.

I haven't gotten the sense that we are failing to take opponents seriously since the UGA game. There have obviously been points at which the effort wasn't ideal, but as a team overall we have consistently played hard since then. It's just a flawed team. The UGA debacle was absolutely a wakeup call for them though.

South Carolina - Q3

Can't believe they are Q3 with a record of 17-10 and 8-7 in the SEC, a bunch of those road wins. As Phil4Bama said above, they are on a strong win streak right now. Hope Frank can save his job, but we need to be ready for a really tough game Saturday. Next week too as all three are fighting for something post season.
