A 4-2 record here would be sufficient

I look at that remaining schedule and think 3-3 is realistic. We aren't beating UK or LSU on the road, and winning in Memorial Gym at Vandy might be the toughest road test of all, especially the way this team plays to the level of our opponent. We SHOULD win the 3 home games but nothing is guaranteed with this bunch. They are just as liable to win the 3 road games and drop the 3 home games as not. Who knows? Oats is squeezing every ounce of moxie out of these guys, not much more he can do. They are just going to do dumb things and play poorly for stretches.

FATIGUE AGAIN. We just ran out of gas. WE hit 6 0f 16 3's first half ( 37.5 %). 1 of 13 2nd half. We got out rebounded 11 to 4 after JD's turnover at 7:43 and we're up 12. I was listening on the radio and the announcers said several times that our 3's were either short or hit the front rim.

link to the stats that I used:

I counted from the play by play for the details.

That Miami game is the best we have played all season on both ends against a quality team

Shack didn't have his legs late in the game. We are gonna have to rest them a little bit more or we are gonna have to get some more minutes from some other guys.

Still not sure what's up with Gary. He started but only played 6 minutes. Hopefully he can get some more time. Holt is coming along. Bediako is playing well but I can't figure out his minutes either. He's getting a lot of easy buckets when he is in there.

Memphis at Houston…who do we root for?

Houston! I don’t want Memphis to get in to the tourney over FL or MS State. Plus, very high quality wins are better than a slightly better metric profile when the committee is looking at it. Imagine if Gonzaga is 1 overall, Baylor wins Big 12 and Big 12 Tourney and is a 2, and Houston wins out from here and is a 2. That will look very good. A close win by Houston is best as that still helps Memphis’ metrics but won’t hurt Houston for seeding.

We most certainly can beat LSU on the road. They aren’t that great at this point in the season.

We can win out honestly if we just protect the basketball.

Well, that Houston game escalated quickly. 13-0 run by Memphis and looks like they are going to win

I think Mext Saturday is winnable if we play well. Kentucky is not as good at home this year as they are on the road

I’m probably going to get downvoted on this one, and I can’t remember ever rooting against Alabama in a game (except for maybe the 2nd half of Avery’s NIT disaster to just get him out), but I can’t say I will be very sad if we lose a close one at Rupp if it somehow keeps AU from winning the SEC. TheIr schedule is too easy though, so I don’t think they will lose enough games for KY to win it outright. So….Roll Tide!

Assuming Arky still had one left to keep from helping them, he should have called one after Gurley’s second shot to get Q out of the game and get Holt or Miles in for defense!! He did the offense for defense substitution the possession before but just doesn’t seem to understand that he doesn’t have to wait for a dead ball. Tons of coaches call that timeout after scoring to set their defense and get their best defenders in the game for the last stop. Oats is fantastic, but his TO use is the weakest part of his coaching and it’s by a large margin.

Seems calling TOs is a subject we don’t agree with ANY of our coaches

Yeah you can’t complain with a win, especially against a quality opponent. Just frustrating that we couldn’t follow up the Ole Miss game with another good performance. I thought our shooting may be going to turn after Wednesday night, and then we have that second half.

Stats I'm looking at shows Arkansas with 16 offensive rebounds.
IIRC, they also had about 7 offensive rebounds in the first 10 minutes of the game

JD took over somewhere before the twelve minute mark where he went on a little mini run by himself well Shack gets the ball off a turnover or miss shot and Shack was either selfish or he had tunnel vision because he should of gave it back to JD regardless...long story short Shack turned it over.

When JP got on a roll last year our guys knew to find him after he made his first one...

The kid's getting severely pushed around by some of the opponents' centers...too physical and athletic for him. If they could/would just learn to box out on defensive rebounds, the diamond-and-one defense could possibly provide a go-to if the situation presented itself, we need to breakup the defensive scheme occasionally....IF they'd learn to block-out!
