The actual seating in Auburn's arena is fine but don't care for their concourse, concession area or access areas walking into the ground floor seating.

If we're going to draw inspiration from another recently built arena I'd rather copy Ole Miss. I think they seat about 10k, but I like their layout better than Auburn's.

That was on Bryne's visit list along with James Madison, DePaul and Virginia.

Agree with this. I think it's nicer than Auburn's arena. And Auburn's arena is really nice. Ole Miss did a fantastic job with the design and would be more than thrilled if we did something similar

Just viewed some pictures of those arenas and would have no complaints with copying any of them. Would’ve never guessed James Madison would have that nice of an arena.

You can definitely see the general template of what we are looking for.

OLE MISS

DEPAUL

JAMES MADISON

VIRGINIA

The Pavilion does look nice. I would make sure Students were on whichever side the camera is showing unlike Ole Miss

Agree - that is something that seems silly but that I absolutely notice every time.

Should just shift the cameras to the other side like we did a few years ago .

I don’t see where we’d fit 5 rows of court side seats in any of those

I REFUSE TO ALLOW THIS NEW ARENA TO BE BUILT UNLESS I GET MY 4TH ROW ON THE FLOOR CHAIR SEAT 15 FEET FROM THE SIDELINE

You will be wrong on Nick Pringle. He's very similar to Dont'a Hall meaning that he likes to dunk everything but what a lot of people don't know is that he can shoot as well.

He dunks, rebounds, runs the floor, and block shots. That's what we lack a versatile 6'10 big man who can run & switch on multiple defenders.

He's 3/19 (16%) from 3PT and 27/58 (47%) from the FT line. I mean......that isn't exactly great?

On the flip side he's 40/64 (63%) from 2PT, so maybe he can be a reliable finisher.

If the guy can finish at the rim, switch on defense and play physical rebounding then sign me up.

The Virginia Arena would be my choice.

JD probably is faster than everybody in the country with the ball in his hands in transition, so he has the speed. He just has to work on breaking people down offensively with multiple moves and trust me he will because he has that top tier work ethic. You can't really compare the two because Kira was way better offensively than JD. JD just started getting better each year because he just kept working.

I like the look of The Pavilion and they seat around 9.5k, we can bump that up another 1k.

What I would like to see:

Fewer floor seats outside of the student section. To make up for this, make the midsection between the lower level and upper level more luxurious. Seating space and comfort in your box, full bar availability, and more exclusive dining choices and restrooms. It gives us a bit more of a pro feel and keeps the boosters happy. Hell, if I'm only committing to a big game or two a year, I'll pony up a bit extra to experience it.

Everyone knows where the students should be.

Scoreboard and box score. I mean it's really not that hard to do better than what we have now.

Surrounding atmosphere. Would be cool to have a restaurant/bar attachment or something along those lines. The bummer about Coleman is there really isn't a pregame area. It's nice to have an outdoor area or a zone around the arena to have a bit more fun before tipoff. Bryant-Denny has the whole quad along with a few bars/restaurants within walking distance. The basketball arena should have at least something.

If we're only going to do around 10k and we know prices will go up, let's make the new experience worth admission.

Do we have any idea on the timeline at all yet? I'm assuming something like 2025-2027 is the most realistic.

The Pavillion broke ground on July 31st, 2014 and opened on January 7th, 2016. (And yes we lost that night)

Sure would be nice if we play no more than 2 additional seasons in Coleman.

That'd mean a completion date of late summer 2024, so about 30 months away. That's definitely doable. Just depends on how quickly they move with finalizing a design and getting construction bids. Sounds like they finally have the money though.
