Well, we got them last year and they got us this year.
Hopefully they lose everybody and our returning core and incoming 5 stars let us get them next year.

3. Reliable Shooters
Yeah, I pretty much agree. If JD comes back we may not need another PG. JD, Bradley, Burnett, and Griffen are a pretty strong top 4 in the back court.
I would like to add a vet big that can shoot. We all expect Bediako to make a jump but I don't want to rely on 2 freshmen to fill out the rotation.
We definitely need a wing that can shoot. I know Griffen and Miller are going to be studs but after being a bit burned from the high expectations of JD, give me a vet that can actually hit an open 3.

I haven't watched much of Burnett admittedly but isn't he a combo guard? If so I rather roll with JD/Bradley and spot minutes for Burnett and use that spot on a wing that can shoot or another big man.

I agree that if JD is back then this one becomes moot

It still makes me sad that we didn't get Obanor.

Yep - that's the sort of guy we need to add next year. We'll be much more athletic, long and switchable with the freshmen, Burnett and more Miles on the floor, but we will definitely need a get buckets shooter type like Obanor. And there will inevitably be 3-4 of them out there to chase.
Or a guy like Kellan Grady at Kentucky.

We need someone that when given an open look, can drain a 3 from anywhere around the arc at a 40% clip.

And we can afford for him to be a little more slow-footed defensively next year, I think, than we could this year. And that opens up quite a few more doors.

I have 3 years of eligibility left. and I can shoot between 40% and 45%, if not better, from 3.
only thing is, I'm 5'9, 35, and closer to 300 lbs than my old playing weight, these days.

This is how I have it right now:
Pro:
JQ -won't get drafted high but dude is like 23 already
Ellis - stock declined like JD but he still needs to go
Shack - almost went last year, good luck
Out due to eligibility:
Rojas
Transfer:
Tchikou
Miles - rising upperclassman, wants to start somewhere
KAH - frontcourt still too crowded? Kinda torn here.
Returning:
JD - draft stock dipping into 2nd, should return
Burnett
Gurley - Covid year so wouldn't count towards numbers
Holt - no reason for him to transfer yet
Incoming:
Bradley - Point Guard
Griffen - Guard
Miller - Wing
Clowney - Post
Pringle - Post
That would leave us with five spots.
Get an experienced PG that has run a similar system, due to depth he doesn't need to command starter minutes. An off-guard that can shoot it (this gives another year for not relying on Holt), two 3/D wings, and a big man that can shoot it because I hate relying on freshmen big men.

There are a few that I would question on your list, but long way to go before we get there.

I would like to think he finally gets it, and starts here.
He screams potential. His ceiling is so high. I hope it finally clicks for his own sake. Oats really needs to build his confidence. His travel last night was entirely due to a lack of confidence in his own decision making.
It's one of the few things I questioned Oats on. Especially earlier this year. He constantly yanked Miles for every little mistake, instead of bearing with it. Miles' ceiling is top 10 pick, and semi-consistent NBA all star.

I'm slow at work today, so I'm excited to look back in a few months and see how wrong I am.

If Abmas and him moved in a package deal like some suspected at the start of the last transfer portal, they could make any decent team a legit NC threat.

I'm not really that high on Miles, to be honest, I know potential has been the buzzword about him but my prediction was more circumstantial than performance-based. The guy can get a ton more minutes somewhere else and keep developing. I do hope he stays but it'll just be interesting to see how it shakes out.

I would be pretty disappointed if Miles left. I think he's an above average defender with the potential to be a great team defender and he's a solid outside shooter. He's the type of guy that I want to see as a senior be a glue guy on a championship team.

His combination of height, athleticism, and skill set are why I am so high on him.

Me too, he's easily one of my favorites on the whole roster.
