Alabama gives up 92 points and loses at Missouri -- a team that had scored 66 points or fewer eight times this season and entered Saturday ranked No. 208 in adjusted offensive efficiency. Bama's defense has struggled for long stretches over the last month, but today was worrying.

I will say this and I will get down voted a lot but I will be happy when James Rojas is back and hopefully he is near 90 percent.

Entirely to soft defensively

I mean this team had all the hallmarks of a Mark Gottfried team.

Highly rated recruits, good schedule, a couple of great wins, streaky shooting, streaky effort, absolute dog shite performances away from home every 3-4 games.

And it'll finish like one of those teams too - 19-12 (10-8) and a 6-8 seed that will lose to a well coached mid-major in the 1st round.

Hey, it's better than the decade between the good CMG years and Oats, but blah.

These type games are why Alabama basketball can't have nice things.

FACT:
Alabama can't handle physical players in the paint...it is what it is.

Yep, recruiting doesn't mean a thing if you can't coach them up. Same old Alabama - the only difference is we are losing to shitty teams with better players than we did in the past.

Many teams have several implosions in January and then make a run in March.

I’d much rather have a team in CBB that’s capable of beating Houston, Gonzaga and UT and doesn’t show up sometimes than a team that just beats teams with less talent.

Consistency is the formula in football. As frustrating as it is, inconsistency in January isn’t that big of a deal.

I dunno about all that. We're in a much better place resume wise right now than any non-Oats Alabama team was in the last 15 years at this point

The Iona loss was supposed to flip the switch, then getting blown out at Memphis, then Davidson was the final straw that was really going to get the team to play to potential consistently. Now we drop this game against maybe the worst high major program in the country. The team is who they are at this point like you said which is pretty disappointing for what I thought we’d be heading into the year.

Today was some serious Gottfried road game stuff. Inexcusable.

Yea any thought that we're gonna use this to fix things is wishful thinking at this point. We've had that change 3 times and done nothing of the sort.

We'll beat some good teams, probably lose 2-3 more like this, finish 10-8 or 9-9 in the SEC and make the tournament as a 7-9 seed.

They are coached up...the problem is they aren't physical like last year's team. They don't have an emotional leader that will jump down their throats like John Petty would do. It's been that way all season. No need to panic but we need Rojas bad.

They don't have that LEADER yet so this will continue to happen.

Lol I remember this board during the Johnson years and before.

All I ask for is a team that consistently makes the tournament”

2 years into looking like a program that will consistently make the tournament, this board melts over a January loss.

If we are all clamoring for James Rojas to come back and save our season, then that is reason enough to panic alone.

Everyone will give you a knee jerk reaction, but there’s no reason we can’t win. Reactions like this board are how sports can get away with letting almost every decent team in the postseason.

That is not knee-jerk at all. You think AU would lose to this team? Nope.

But don’t be surprised if Bama does beat them. I wouldn't be. In Oats nature to lose to these shitty teams and “redeem” himself next game.

Time and time again.

When he loses some of these skilled players (saw a draft board the other day with 3 guys going in 2 rounds) and he has to coach on his on skills - he’ll be finished at Bama if he doesn’t step it up.

If you know anything about basketball, you’ll know how shitty this team (with these players) are being coached.

To be fair, a loss to Missouri or Georgia deserves a pretty big melt. They are awful.

It's basketball and there are 100+ games to remember but can you remember a worse defensive effort from an Alabama team since the late Gottfried era?
