I knew JQ's 3P% had fallen of a cliff relative to last year, but actually looking at the stats makes it even worse.

Gary - 29.2% (24 3PA)
JD - 27.6% (29 3PA)
Gurley - 26.5% (34 3PA)
JQ - 26.5% (83 3PA)

Big difference in attempts obviously, but damn. JQ shot 43.3% last year, him getting back closer 40% for the rest of the season would be a big boost.

JQ had a 7 game stretch last year where he was 20-34 from 3. That is getting it done. (LSU thru MSU)

Its not the splash name but Loyla was an impressive win as well

Loyola is a solid win, but I'm not sure I'd qualify it as impressive.

Miami is an odd case. Literally every metric hates them but they're 12-3 and 4-0 in ACC play. The ACC is trash this year, but if they end up finishing top 3 in the conference you'd think the selection committee will see that as a good win for us regardless.

To put how extreme it is in perspective, Quinerly was 52/120 (43.3%) from 3 last season.

This year so far, he is 22/83 (26.5%).

He would need to make 30 of his next 37 to hit 43.3% on 120 attempts this year.

I, for one, am pulling for him.

But, seriously, his 3pt struggles, the loss of Petty, Primo, and even Reese (sometimes) has hurt our perimeter shooting so far. We really need Gurley to shoot better, along with JQ and Shack to get the offense rolling. Miles has been struggling lately too. And Ellis only shows up on offense every other game. It would be nice if JD could knock down 30% from 3, but right now, with him, I'd be satisfied to see him look to score on those drives where he's already under the basketball and tries to pass in traffic.

That much of a consistent drop for this whole season is too much to just be a "slump." Something has almost certainly changed in his shot fundamentals/mechanics/training. Someone seriously needs to analyze everything last year vs this year. Compare film of his shot, practice routine, weight training mechanics, etc.

It could be something like he changed the way he does his triceps weight training.

I have nothing scientific whatsoever to back this up, but it does look to me like JQ's 3's are coming out higher this year with more arch than they did last season. But I could certainly be wrong.

Missouri Basketball to Play Shorthanded Against Alabama Due to COVID-19 Issues

The Tigers are currently down three scholarship players due to COVID-19 issues within the program.

Why is it that more liberal leaning schools are battling this more than other schools?
I think just about the entite Left Coast universities have missed a game or two or more because of Covid cancellations.

Nah, not really. Might make the play in tournament, but might not. Might be a good chance for Primo to secure some good minutes for the rest of the season as long as he can be productive.

I imagine pro teams over a course of 82 regular season games will shuffle starting lineups.
Am I right?

Yeah, some (most/all) definitely will. Same as any sport at any other level really. You start the season with a certain plan and then shite happens (injuries or someone over/under performing) and you make changes based on the best info you have the time.

Spurs are seven games under .500 and the season is just about halfway over. They have a 0% chance of winning a championship this year, so the second half of the season would be a great opportunity to give your lottery pick some serious run to see exactly what he's got before you head into the off season, draft and free agency imo.
